This a boutique hotel, close to the ocean...humming birds, nature and lots of palm trees. The rooms a clean, quaint ,cozy and only a few steps from a spectacular beach. Breakfast is a feast, which is included. The food was excellent ! The staff are very helpful and welcoming. A special thank you to Dennis who made my stay a pleasant one. His service was outstanding. Loved waking up and seeing the view of the ocean...... After spending 2 weeks in Montezuma I returned to LaPalapa for another nig.
all reviews » We loved being right on the beach and to be able to walk out onto street to shop and eat. Food was great at every place We stayed 9 nights and we ate somewhere different each night. Great restaurant is right out your front door on the beach. Wake up in the morning walk 20 feet and your morning meal is served to you on the beach under Palm trees. Breakfast incuded in the room, but make sure you tip the server. Henry and the rest of the staff are great and friendly. Staff was friendly and helpful Breakfast was worth the extra $10 Awesome location can't be beat . $30 for 1 hr massage with two masseuses was one of the best . Definitely will return if I don't buy a condo in Tamarindo. The staff seemed a little funny but ended up being wonderful! It's literally steps from the ocean with a good restaurant and ocean front massages! The room is simple but clean. I would stay here again--great deal!. I liked the morning restaurant waitress, Estner, she should be given a job promotion. The gentlemen, Leo, who helped me with check-in and booking tours. He's a great assist to that hotel. Staff was amazing. Nick was a great help thanks for all. Location was perfect location. Steps from the ocean. Clean. Typical older beach place but clean. Food was killer... Well equipped room TV, A/C & kitchen. The rooms are a little rough but clean. If you want beach, good food, and a relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend LaPalapa. They kept trying to pitch their catamaran, which was annoying but kind of hilarious at the same time. The rooms should have all the taps working on the sinks. The hotel needs to be given more attention to getting everything working properly. The evening staff could be more friendly to the hotel guests. The front of the building should have a better sign that you can actually read. It is very old property tico style. But don't let that keep you away. Has ac hot water good shower soft beds. Just old.i will stay there again. The room is fun although the twin beds pushed together to make a king sized sucked. 1) Lack of hot water in bathroom for shaving 2) Waiters not fulling setting tables for meals; you always seemed to have to ask them for something e,g spoon, salt, milk, sugar etc. The motion light that kept going on on the patio next door every time something moved. It was Too sensitive. Our shower kept going from hot to cold and cold to hot which was a little annoying plus the remote to our tv made it very difficult to turn the tv on/off and change the channels when we wanted to watch tv at night...but other than that, would definitely stay there again!. Preparing breakfast took 45 minutes and we were the only guests.
