This Hostel is amazing. Our travelers consisted of three people, husband and wife in their 50's and me their 22 year old son. I was a bit apprehensive staying in a hostel with my parents, but I decided to take the leap. The room itself is great. I stayed in a room with two beds and a private bathroom. It was very clean, the bathroom was good, and the bed was comfortable. If you are traveling to Xi'an, I reccomend you stay here. The staff was very knowledgeable, they all spoke english, and wer.
all reviews » I cannot say enough good things about this hostel. Stayed in a double room which was a hotel room, not a hostel. Super clean, good beds, I even think the floors were heated. The staff is excellent, went out of their way to help us with planning and transportation. The location is excellent, easy walk or short bus ride to all the sites. Common space was cozy and it is probably even better in the summer since they have an amazing rooftop. You will not be disappointed. Nice inn. The pillows are like a rock and as a result i did not sleep for 3 nights. Staff friendliness was fair but not exceptional. One member in particular was rude in relation to increasing the price of a particular glass of wine. She just presumed i would go for the cheaper one without asking us. Her manor was abrupt and inappropriate. The bedding and sanitary facilities were clean over all i would give this accommodation 6.5 out of 10. Rooms were nice, atmosphere was good, and the rooftop garden was a fabulous place to relax. There were tables available for billiards and ping pong, and being able to eat meals on the main level when you didn't want to have to make a run out into the city to get a bite were great. Many tours and activites were available through the hostel, and fun nightly activities were available for free. Great location.my seven year old daughter love the roof terrace where she could play.my husband love the quiet room and me love the clean room and bathroom.usually we do not do organise tour but their terracotta army tour was well worth it.nice guide and no shopping involved.lots of info for backpackers in the hotel.highly recommended.good value for money. the rooms were clean and the Hostel provided everything that a traveler might need. The staff was great, understanding, patient, giving all the answers to the questions (probably asked for the million time). Food was tasty and portions were big. Decoration of the hostel was nice and me and my friends felt comfortable being there. Great location - walking distance to Bell/Drum tower, city wall and Muslim quarter. Exceptionally helpful staff who speak great English. Decent sized rooms, small bathrooms, but good showers. Rooms were clean. Restaurant was good for dinner (did not try breakfast). The hotel is very nice and clean. Only 15 min walking to the bell tower and with plenty of restaurants close by. Also the staff was very friendly and there was nice ambience in the common area. I liked everything about this place. Our taxi driver had a little bit of trouble finding the place, but it was great once we got there. The only down side of the room was the plugged drain, which took long time to get rid of the water. I am not aware if it was only in our room though. Bed was a bit hard but this is somewhat normal for China. Nothing all good. The food needs some work. 28RBM for 1 sausage, 1 rasher of bacon, 1 small hash brown & 2 eggs does not a breakfast make. And American pancakes are not French. Small things, but from a backpackers point of view we would like a decent breakfast if we are paying for it. And beer prices which compete with the stall outside - make us want to stay in the bar!! Money is everything to a backpacker!!!. A very small room and especially the shower which is right above the toilet. When I made the booking online, I reserved a bed in an all female dorm but was placed in a co-ed dorm. It worked out fine, but another female travel had the same thing happen to her. Not sure if that is Hantang or the booking website's fault. Shower could have done with a little more pressure. Hard to find. For the dorm room, there was no place to hang a towel or anything in the bathroom. Since the entire floor gets wet when someone showers, it'd be nice to have a place to hang something. Stinky toilet. Bathroom was clean but stinky. They provide expensive tour for a youth hotel. The taxi driver for the tour try to reduce the duration by forgetting to drive us to the second part of the museum. attitude. Their toilets were very tiny. The wi-fi never worked on the 3rd floor. Room facility is not that good. Just basic. Very moist on the first floor. Some staff was not that friendly, especially to Chinese guest. Wifi speed was unacceptable. too noisy at the ground. It's not non-smoke hotel. some of the guest just smoke in the lobby and pass way but no one try to stop them. secondly this is crazy city. the price for travel is double and double for last ten years. So the price of the hotel is little bit higher than any other hostel at the same standard. finally I want to point the mattress is really uncomfortable. I feel some bugs bit me at night.
