Inside the hotel it was really modern and the decor was great. It was great value and we felt happy about the place. The staff were fantastic and spoke very good English. They looked after our bags between 8am when we arrived in town till a 2pm check in. It is so close to the bund it isn't funny and only a 5-10min walk to the main metro underground station in Shanghai. It is also very close to the start of the main shopping area.
all reviews » We were amazed by how nice this hotel is. Exterior look is nothing fantastic and alittle disappointing. However, the interior was very nicely and tastefully done up. The restaurant area was extremely nice for a wine at night. Best place in Shanghai, near the Bund. Aceptable price for the situation. Clean hotel, in the center but still quiet. They ask for too high deposit. In my second visit the took 5000 rmb as deposit for 11 days, it's crazy high, over 600 €. Also the sound of the room doors when you leave them opened it's annoying, specially during the night. Very hard chinese beds. Although all public areas are well maintained, the room was a bit less. However the location makes up for this. Fridge wasn't working. Weighing scale wrong calibration. I didn't like that smoking is available et hotel...should be at least one third of capacity smoking free!. To provide internet in the room. My friend's room has a computer and internet but not my room. To have staff that are more well verse in travel to interesting sights in Shanghai and more brochures in the hotel to assist the guests in their travels. to bad signal for wi-fi in rooms, poor breakfast. staff is not very friendly. breakfast. No internet in my room, I had to stay in the hall when I needed to be online. The staff was not friendly (but this is common in China), and spoke poor english. Noise in my room coming from Inside the hotel. The staff, particularly one female had a poor manner to guests, even accepting the language difficulty. On check-in for 3 nights we were asked to pay a CNY200 deposit. On the second day after sightseeing we returned to find our room locked and were informed that we did not pay enough deposit. Not our fault, we should have been informed at check-in, the ultimatum 'pay more, we unlock room' is not good customer service in a hotel of this quality. Entrance of the hotel to be to be absolutely revised, badly enlightened. Business center is not really a business center but rather an office with a desk. Beds are very hard not suitable for european toursits. Breakfast cold unless you eat early. staff, breakfast,. the floor of the room seems dirty!! the staff speak and understand poorly the english... the bed is to hard. I would not recommend this hotel to the business traveler. The internet connection in the rooms and even the lobby area was really bad. This is not acceptable for a hotel with Business in the title.I Would not stay here again. Wifi very very slow. Even though the facility is with wifi, I would say its useless at all. Hotel is one of the standad chinese hotel between 3 and 3,5 star. With roud receptionist and rather old furniture and facilities. No breakfast for foreigner, gym is also very poor. The breakfast was disgusting. The terrace in front of the room (# 518) was unclean. The carpet in the room (#518) stuck to feet. The receptionists were actually ineffective. Staffs' attitude. Staff gave us a room with two beds (twin) instead of one larger bed (double) although they did agree to switch room next day. First room was extremely noisy due to the street-facing, thin and non-soundproof window. The first room has an extremely strong smell of cigarette that I could even smell in my sleep. Second room was much better in all aspects. The window is not a real window. It opens, but to aan area that s completely enclosed so there is no real airflow. Also the Wifi is terrible.
