We had a nice time in Dali Ancient Town. There is plenty of options what to do there and around. The Old town itself is ofc a big market place, so, one shop next to each other, but the place has a very nice atmosphere. You can spend one day in the streets of Old town and then you can rent a bike and go arnd to visit the nearby monastery or lake or some villages arnd.The hostel has a list of activities you can do. So, it is up to you and your budget. The hostel itself is a great place for backpa.

Our room - Delux King- had a huge comfortable bed with electric blanket, the bathroom was well appointed, even had bathtub and above head heater lights. There was also a fan heater in the room, everything was spotlessly clean. An outside street light shone into the room, but we talked to management who were not aware of that problem and they were going to fix it with a thicker curtain. Staff and management were very friendly and helpful an. Very nice and friendly atmosphere, met many nice people, staff very helpfull, good food, quiet at night and still close to Dali Old Town. Rooms are clean and comfortable, not like usual Chinese style hostels. Worth the extra money!. I spent one night in this hostel. The staff is very friendly and they can help you for everything. The situation it's near the old town, but it's a little difficult to find at the beginning. The rooms are clean and confortables. Address only mentioned street, not house number and only in English, not Chinese, found it only with the location shown on google maps. Without having mobile data it could be a bit difficult to find. We had a few interactions with one of the staff who had difficulty understanding our needs. Most staff spoke English extremely well, otherwise. The bathroom was smelly, as are a lot of bathrooms in china. If your room is on the main courtyard, it may be noisy in the evening. Depends how late you want to go to bed!. furniture and view. Time needed to prepare the breakfast. Better to wake up early to get your breakfast. We could hear people at the pool table about 8:15 am and late at night - till about midnight. There weren't any chairs in the room so the only place to sit was on the bed. Also, when it was cold and rainy, there wasn't a warm closed in place to go to be with friends. Fuel fumes in the lobby. This is annoying. You need to pay cash. need to rest space for customers. Lacking staff efficiency, owner is rude. Location is easily identifiable , but their staff spoke to my driver in Chinese but still they were not able to explain. it is really hard when there is inefficient cheap staff. Service is really bad.
