This is a real gem, the rooms are comfortable and the shared bathroom is beautifully finished and probably the nicest we have had on our travels. The staff are really friendly and helpful, breakfast was good and the garden area is a lovely place to spend time. The wifi is great and there are even massages and spa options available. I had double room with a shared bathroom. The room was lovely. Tastefully decorated and clean. Th bathroom was fantastic, the best I had in Chile. An amazing power shower, not to be missed. The bed was comfortable and the room was large. The staff were kind and helpful. They were very patient with my basic Español.

The electric blanket was a great asset, as the weather was quite cool during our stay. The place had a wonderful atmosphere and was tastefully decorated. Excellent breakfast served til quite late in the morning and midday checkout. Lovely cat Cunza for cuddles. The hostel is very beautiful,with superb patio and territory. Friendly staff, great design, fireplace, comfort, bed heaters. The place is nice and is good located. Nothing really, La Serena itself can get a little cold in the evenings so be prepared. It was freezing cold during my visit. I asked for a heater and was given a gas heater on my first night but this only lasted for a few hours. The rest of the time I was always super cold. I was not offered anymore options during the remainder of my stay. The internet was unstable. It would drop out intermittently. Room felt damp, as it received no sun. Some sort of heating would have been good. Our room was a bit cold, ok once warm inside the bed though. Nothing to dislike. There is no heater in the rooms and on the first night we were really cold. For the second night they offered a heater blanket and the problem was partially solved. They should think about this situation for the winter. Another point, our room was downstairs and we could hear the steps and other movements from the room above. Its far from the beach. The shared bathroom had a very poor lock which needs to be replaced. The shower took some getting used to as it was more complicated to operate. A pity that the staff didn't speak English, but with gestures and a good moos, that wasn't a problem. No room heating. If you sleep in the first floor you would probably hear a lot of noise cos the roof is thin.also in our case the windows in the firt floor does not have so you don't have privacy in the bathroom.
