Location: very convenient to several attractions, restaurants, churches, shopping, and kitchen supplies. With the excellent shuttle service to take you to and from the hotel, and the many activities included in the hotel, and the included day outing to Duncan, we were able to do and see much more than if we had had to take transit or taxis. Very handicapped friendly. Gardens and blossom trees were absolutely wonderful. We have tentatively booked to return next year! I have never witnessed a hot.
all reviews » My husband and I got an upgrade to our room --- which was a kitchen -- we were staying for a few days so it worked out great and we appreciated the upgrade. We enjoyed the pool facilities and the restaurant which we used a few times during our stay. Easy to get around --- liked the layout of the facility --- lots of character and everything easy to use --- also appreciated all the items in the gift shop --- staff was great -- very friendly. If you could send any future info to my email ---- sum. Friendly, helpful staff at reception - nothing was too much trouble. Our suite was pleasant and spacious. The amenities for guests was the best we have ever seen in one hotel - billiards room, extensive games room, swimming pool and hot tub. We only had breakfast in the restaurant but it was lovely. The hotel is situated in a quiet street but is convenient for the harbour and town. There was also a hotel bus available for guests wanting to be taken to or back from places nearby. I would definit. The Royal Scot is centrally located so that you can walk most everywhere in Victoria. It is quiet, clean, well furnished and has a charming quality about it. The staff are friendly and accomodating (example: first night the pillows were not great so on second night they brought us feather ones) We have stayed at the Royal Scot several times and have enjoyed it every time. Excellent location. Just a block away from harbour and downtown Victoria but on a quiet side street. Good size, comfortable and quiet rooms. Good value for a room with kitchen and separate bedroom in such a great location (very comfy sofa bed - not often the case!). Good pool and leisure facilities. Would definitely recommend for families visiting Victoria. We enjoy our stay with the little kitchen so we can prepare simple foods...more relaxing than eating out. I am Celiac and follow a strict gluten free diet. Nice to have to two rooms to spread out and we can choose two different programs to watch on TV. The linens are also high quality. The whole place just feels luxury. The suite we had was superb. The shuttle bus pickup and drop off wonderfully, the reception staff simply the best I have come across and I have seen many. Hotel facilities were very good, with swimming pool/hot tub in basement. Rooms were a good size and the Restaurant was good. Location is very good, being on the block next to the Legislative Assembly building, next to the Inner Harbour. Staff friendly. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I arrived early so that my room was not yet available and they gave me a complimentary upgrade so that I had no waiting time. The location is superb especially when arriving with the Clipper ferry. The hotel charges abit too much for parking (15.00) I would say that 5.00 to 8.00 would be more fair. The rooms can be quite stuffy and hot when it warms up. The fan is appreciated but one for each room would be great. We have stayed in hotel accommodation that have the newer air conditioners that vent through a window .. work great. I have seen them for under $300 and could be on request no extra charge, even come with slat to install in window. No air-conditioning in room (fan only) which could be an issue in warmer weather. Car parking charged at $15 per night, but surface car park at end of Quebec street is only $6.50 for 24 hours. The room was quite dark and a bit stuffy. the only thing i did not like was that our room was over the front door of the hotel and the coming and goings early in the morning could be disturbing, but if i was that bothered i could have asked to change rooms and i am sure the hotel would have complied. the early morning wake up chatter - I was in 239, right above the entrance. Possibly employees leaving/coming to work around 6:15am. Two men - one with an accent to remind me that I was staying at the Royal SCOT hotel. None. It was great, really. If I had to choose something, I'd say it would be great to have included breakfasts!. the refrigerator was making a clunking sound the whole time..day and night..we made the staff aware. Nothing. Would have chosen a larger room but not a serious issue. The sofa bed was not very comfortable. My suite location was overlooking an ugly rooftop with a very poor view. Additional $15 per night for parking on site is expensive, given the price of the rooms. There are more reasonable parking options on the street or nearby; however, because we have someone traveling with us that has mobility issues, we didn't have a choice. Also, rooms do not have air conditioning. It was okay since we had cooler weather. The suite was a little stuffy and too warm. bed a little hard. can't think of a thing. No comments. Nothing. Thin toilet paper. Older building. Reasonable, but not as good as the 9.1 rating we read. A little "dated", but so's my home! Paying for parking.
