The staff were so helpful and friendly!! I've never had service that exceptional. I had looked at the pictures online but in person I was still pleasantly surprised by just how nice the hotel was. Not just our rooms but the front, the lobby, hallways...everything was updated and beautiful. The towels were so fluffy! The staff gave us each a coupon for a free pastry and drink in the morning and a cheese platter for after we were settled in. It was wonderful. They also helped us store our bikes a.

The food was good and the bar staff were great and even made me a hot citrus drink at no charge when I exclaimed that I was unwell and unable to have an alcoholic beverage. The location was very centralised to all that we needed to do in Victoria. The check in staff member let us unload our vehicle out the front of the hotel and park there until we were settled and happy with our room. Parking was a bloc away from. The staff were delightful, efficient and very responsive, and the suite was very comfortable, modern and well-maintained. The hotel has initiated a number of very innovative initiatives which are both green in result and beneficial to the visitor in cost terms. Located in a very interesting part of town, and was very close but not buried in the heart of the tourist route. We will certainly stay there again. Loved all the upgrades done to what was obviously a much older venue. Rooms were very tastefully furnished with free wi-fi and mini refrigerator and micro-wave. The bathroom had heated floors which was a nice bonus. The food at the adjoining restaurant was some of the best we have experienced. Breakfast offerings were very nice also. The parking lot for the Hotel was a ways away and you had to go around in a bit of a circle to get to it. Easier to pay the parking in front if it works out for you. The evening staff was excellent. The morning staff was not. Our room door didnot automatically latch closed when we closed it. We might not have noticed this the first time and might have left it unsecure. Corner room so lots of traffic noise. Tv volume set too low - could not hear the movie above the traffic noise, lots of unsavory characters in the area - perhaps police should be more visible in the area. Recommend taking taxi at night. Parking can be a problem. Coincidence I know.....the fire alarm went off at 3 something?? We all evacuated the hotel and stood outside so it was hard to sleep afterwords. Before that, Didn't like the party on our floor and the hallway noise from the people that were parting. We did notice the ear plugs, but we slept with the tv on :). Our room had an adjoining door to our neighbours' room and sound travelled very well through this door. Luckily our neighbours were fairly quiet!. Nothing not to like!. There were a lot of down and outs near the Hotel. We were approached at least three times as we were leaving the hotel. They were very friendly and polite and we did not have any issues or problems. It is just sad really that there appears to be a problem with down and outs in such a beautiful city. The police seem to ignore/accept this, as they just walk straight past them :-(. No Complaints. I was solo and room size fine. If with my wife we might have considered it a bit small. Breakfast portions are enormous. Slightly off putting but delicious. Pillows were a bit too fluffy but to each their own. We had a quiet room on 4th floor facing the courtyard but understand that rooms facing Douglas Street (Hwy1) are real noisy. Our friends ended up sleeping with earplugs on the first floor. Not a thing. The hotel is located in an area with an active nightlife scene. They supply the ear plugs which worked great, but if you are sensitive to noise...or nightlife...you might prefer a quieter neighborhood. There was nothing I didn't like. quite a few homeless people seemed to live in the area. No personal safes in rooms, can be a little noisy at times. The water pressure in the shower was weak, so it took a while to wash the shampoo/conditioner out. Nothing!. Parking lot located a block from hotel Having to worry about either paying for parking or having to walk over to get car from hotel parking lot. The parking arrangements were not available initially and when they were were expensive.This however is a normal problem for city tourists who have a car and the efforts of the staff to help more than compensated. street noise at night sometimes loud. nothing really. We like everything!. smallish room, street noise (earplugs a nice touch). The queen room was a bit small. Street noise, ear plugs fixed that. Room lighting could be better. Nothing. We live in the country, so found the street noise a bit loud -therefore we couldn't open the window to cool the room at night. No parking, Pandora IMPOSSIBLE to access at rush hour, small size of room. Nothing, our experience was all positive. Not much to dislike.
