The atrium/courtyard created inside the building with a real creek flowing through and tropical plants everywhere is a hidden gem that makes the experience quite extraordinary. The hotel exterior looks outdated and doesn't promise anything that special so the effect is even more powerful. We had our room overlooking the courtyard and it was fantastic. all reviews » We enjoyed the quiet stay, the included breakfast, the comfortable, modern and spacious room. The large trees and brook that runs through the atrium were restful and appealing. The location is also central with lots of restaurants close by. The lounge and restaurant on location were also well priced. The restaurant and atrium are quite impressive. I really enjoyed the complimentary made-to-order breakfast. Choices included: eggs & sausage, pancakes, or fruit & yogurt. There was definitely enough variety to satisfy my cravings. The location of the hotel is very central and easy to find. pool was awesome! The kids had a blast Breakfast was included in the rate, buffet breakfast on the weekends and sit down service during the week. Usually free breakfast means a dry muffin and stale coffee. Cookies mid afternoon rooms were clean and comfortable excellent value. I didn't like the fact that there is a charge if we needed to have a microwave in our room!. Our room was good but the hallways and stairwells looked like they needed some updates, like some new and modern colors and to get rid of the old brown carpets. It needed some fresh, vibriant colors. nothing. TV remote was missing from the room and when the staff member brought up a new one, it didn't work either (needed to be synced with the tv first). Didn't like having to walk past dining people to get to the pool!. There could be better temperature control in the room. The one I was in seemed quite warm, but it was not intolerable. There wasn't much to do in Veron in the evening but we didn't know the town. There was maintenance being performed while I was there and this was very noisy. The air conditioning was noisy. The pull out sofa bed our kids slept on was very uncomfortable. The air conditioning in our room did not work well at all. Elevator to far from room. They give you a breakfast coupon with 3 choices, after the 3rd day you are sick of it. There is not much sun light and fresh air to the room. Atrium room has no view outside. Shower head fixed in an angle to wall - awkward to use shower. I am a best western member and prices were very high, even though it was summer season, think best western members could still get a better rate, went thru letsbookhotel.com instead and was a way better price. Some staff not familiar with room pricing arrangement. We needed to check out one day earlier than planned; I was challenged by a front desk person; she thought I needed to pay the full amount. I replied that this was not in the Terms and Conditions; and then she agreed. This was a bit uncomfortable for both of us plus other guests waiting. I honestly can't think of a thing that we didn't like. Front entrance exterior tiles needed to be pressure washed. nothing. Shower head was leaking/spraying everywhere and the wall sconce was flashing at night even though it was off. The man was very rude to my kids when he told them it was 10 and it is only for adults. There is no clock by the pool. Unexpected fee for extra adult using EXISTING bed. nothing. fitness room. we didnt end up in the right room but were moved into a great room right away (within 20 minutes) all that was great except we had to pay for the changes. I found that when I reserved ground floor poolside over the internet and didnt get it maybe we shouldnt have had to pay the extra. Nevertheless the switch was prompt and we were satisfied. Small bathroom. Wobbly toilet Limited tv channels. Maybe 7 That they would not let me collect points on my BW card because of booking with you people rather than direct thru them. no free wifi in rooms. very loud hotel. hear people yelling in hallways, and noise from courtyard. It was a long way from lobby. View was works yard at back. Foyer light in room flickered all nite after light was turned off. Tap in bathroom sink very loose. No extra blanket in room. The room rate included breakfast, but there was nothing on the menu that I could eat. I am vegan, gluten-free. I ordered the fresh fruit, but it was an unappetizing blend of unripe fruit, out-of-season fruit. You really need to start offering gluten-free options; many restaurants are now doing this and travellers really appreciate this.
