Good well equipped apartments and excellent for a family stay. For us the location out of the city centre was good, easy parking. We liked the Kitsilano neighbourhood and it's only 10 minutes drive from the city centre. Really clean, nice bathrooms. Would recommend them to anyone. Great place, very clean, modern furniture (except maybe for the kitchen's furniture), plenty of space, large shower, good price for the location (on UBC campus), beaches nearby, 10-15 minutes from downtown, los of buses nearby, calm place (never heard any neighbour).
all reviews » The accomodations were good. The room was clean and the little kitchen, micro wave, fridge was a nice addition. It was close enough to dntwn Vancourver, far enough away from the congestion and traffic. Quiet and the price was cheap compared to Vancourver hotels. Super clean newly refurbished apartment with a good size and well equipped kitchen, the outside of the building is older, but inside is a much better story! Kori from the front desk deserves a special mention for her attitude and helpfulness!. The Gage Apartments were clean and comfortable and had kitchenettes. We could make a simple breakfast each morning. The staff was accommodating. Overall, these units are basic, but comfortable. A good value for the Vancouver area. This is a perfect place for someone with a car. A whole apartment for way less than what the cheapest descent hotel in Vancouver would charge! Parking is also relatively cheap ($9 per day) I will definitely stay here again. Excellent family-friendly facilities ! Had everything that a family would need daily - from the cooking utensils to the pots and dinnerware - absolutely wonderful to see ! Also, very easy parking on campus. Excellent location on the UBC campus. Good sized room and kitchen dining area, comfortable bed and pullout sofa with excellent cotton sheets. Kitchen well stocked. Very friendly staff. Perfect for us. location was good, close to where we needed to be ie restaurants, shopping and family. reasonable rate for suite and parking. have been telling all our friends about this and will stay there again. Don't like big cities but the peace of Gage apartmt's made the hospital visit tolerable. Incredible price, walking distance to Wreck beach, cheap parking (relative to other Vancouver hotels), spacious clean rooms, beautiful location. the size of the apartment and the fact that it just feels like being at home. Everything, fridge, microwave, tv, tel, internet, were available. We were there for a graduation and it was a perfect location plus within walking distance of restaurants and all facilities. Room @ Walter Edge was much greater then the Marine Dr. -Perfect size for use, I was there while my wife was in the UBCH -Bed was fine but could have been a queen. A minor issue was the booking process which seems unusually complex. We had multiple rooms and I wasn't able to pay for the three rooms we were staying in. They had to be listed under individual names and paid for by that individual, or they had to sign a waiver to enable me to pay. This seemed unnecessarily complex and was a little frustrating as other providers don't ask for this. However it's a minor irritation and shouldn't detract from the quality of the accomodation. Bed is a little hard, but still comfortable (pillows are very comfy though!). Don't have any complaints. one larger female staff member needs to learn some customer relations etiquette, the rest were fantastic!. Housekeeping didn't show up after the first night. Had to call for service. Ok after that one incident. Does not have A/C but for what you are paying is expected. Also I showed up on the hottest weekend this Summer and still without A/C wasn't too bad. The bed mattress could be better. nothing ! All facilities were great ! Might want to include gym / exercise room for those of us who wish to exercise :-D. the only thing we would like next time is not to be on the ground floor. Nothing!. In the Summer, the suites are almost unbearably hot, and the only chance for some relief was to be put on a waiting list for a fan (which we never got). This was our ONLY complaint. No air conditioning. lack of appropriate climate control, apartment was a bit hot for my family, especialy for my little ones. Nothing to dislike. HOT!!! Very hot !!! We were staying in the Marine Dr. on the first night. It was 27C. in Vancouver that day. Our room was like an oven. we understand there's no AC. in student resident. But we didn't even have a fan in our room. It was so hot in our room that we couldn't sleep til passed 3 am. I had to cover myself with a wet towel to stay cool off so I can fall asleep. Second night ~ at the Walter Edge was much better. The ceiling fan & the fan @ the window did the job. Front desk staff could be friendlier. Beds are a bit hard. No A/C. It is quite far from the town, but the bus stop is near. The pull out couch mattress was horrible...lots of springs. It was quite a drive from downtown. Had to pay for parking. No pool. The quote on letsbookhotel.com was quite a bit less than the actual cost and the front desk had to honour the letsbookhotel.com price. A bit embarrassing. A bit out of the way from tourist activities but great location on a very nice campus. Neither staff nor online website made it clear what would or wouldn't be done for housekeeping. eg. our dishes remained in sink, and we got no coffee packet for night 2. I just would have liked a note about that. No bug screens on windows. It seemed like none of the dorms at UBC have these. Refrigerator9small) in studio wasn't cold and hard to adjust to correct temperature. Paying for parking seems unreasonable during the slow summer months. Also, parking around campus requires special permits for every lot. The mattress on the pull-out sofa.... Kitchen could have had more cookware. Tim hortons on the campus closed very early.. My toilet did not flush properly. The parking for me as a disabled person was difficult as it was a long walk to get to the entrance and then to get to my room. Being from the south, I'm conditioned to having air-conditioning in hotel rooms. It was hard to get comfortable at night during the summer. I wish it had air conditioning; had to pay for parking; had a problem during check-in in that the fare quoted wasn't what was offered-- fortunately I had brought along a print-out of my confirmation email. Spartan.... Complete lack of decor. a little bit noisy. None. drab white wall colour lack of guide on television (didn't find anywhere what was on and had to keep flicking) couch wasn't very comfortable. No air conditioning at a very hot time of year. room service could be done later. Did not appreciate having to pay for parking on top of the cost of the room. Felt that should have been included with the room price. Was informed of parking fee's apon check in, would be nice to have that information when I booked the room. Lack of fans to cool rooms slightly particularly at night. nothing. - too far from/to downtown area - wifi is not available in the room but only in public space. The place feels quite institutional. no A/C a bit far from downtown, 25 dollar taxi fare a bit tricky on campus to find.
