It was a room for one night before our trip back to the U.K after a 2wk trip to Vancouver Island. Cintinental breakfast was included and this was fine and satisfying. Room great, aircon worked, shower fine, fridge worked, tv, tea and coffee machine worked. All was good. Thankyou. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful when asked about sightseeing and getting downtown.

In this price range the Super 8 Vancouver is certainly delivering above expectations. For Vancouver such prices are a steal and you cannot expect a Ritz Carlton for this rates. So I do not understand some of the comments here and assume the writers were not familiar with the Hotel prices in Vancouver. Rooms are clean and comfortable and there is a free continental breakfast included. What else can you expect?. near city; good breakfast-not fancy; clean; near shops and restaurants (but that were not open late!); covered parking; good price. Shuttle service to and from airport. Nice to have a continental breakfast. They are trying to upgrade rooms with new paint, etc. The sports bar attached had great food. The super 8 did have breakfast which was good. free WiFi breakfast came with accommodation Shuttle to airport close to airport. It was close to Subway Trains station. Excellent location. location, close to vancouver. The price wasn't too bad. The Hippo Bar was attached, and Jo-Ann was the best server/bartender a person could ask for. Free Wi-Fi and free overnight parking are the only Plus in my opinion. The cleaning staff was in the hall and didn't seem to be in a hurry. There was a small window a/c unit that was noisy and didn't keep the room cool enough. The bathrooms are a little stained. Electronic card system was a little hit and miss. cards may need replacement, but that costs and they are keeping prices low. While breakfast was good for the price, the breakfast room could do with a little re-organisation in the tables and seating. Self-service counter area was fine. Air-conditioning struggled to cope with afternoon sun on window causing heating of room even with blinds closed. However it was high summer. The bed was hard. maybe a dense foamy on top would solve the issue. The restaurant was smselling like beer... not good ...atmosphere was very bad. You should serve your guests in dsthe small restaruant where we had breakfast, away from the bar. Food was blan, but otherwise good. noisy. the room was too warm initially but cooled down after the A/C was turned on. the carpets in the corridors. it was a little outdated. Desk clerk tried to charge $109 for the room when letsbookhotel.com gave it to me for $79. beat up- needs renovation; no frig or microwave; not best of locations; not quite 3 star. Bathrooms were very small and tubs and sinks are very old too. Outside of hotel needs updating and is beside bar where some questionable men were hanging around using bad language. Parking lots looked bad too. The room I had kinda felt like a jail cell a bit off by itself. Behind the laundry shoot. I would have liked to have been able to cancel. But I only had to stay one night and I do have one more night because of the price not able to cancel. It is a beautiful hotel, but it needs a good cleaning and a paint job. felt like I was on set of walking dead show, chains locking up old lounges, stair ways locked, only one elevator works etc. No microwave, refrigerator. It seemed like 1/2 the hotel was shut down, but you had to walk through it to get to the parking garage, which seemed like a cave. Walking to the parking garage made you think the the movie, "The Shining". It seemed like the hotel was built in 1957 and had not been upgraded since. I'm convinced that I got a cold from staying at this virus-ridden establishment. Pillows were not clean and smelt bad. Interior Lighting is poor and the hotel is old and dilapidated. Will not use again. Not sure the hotel is actually 3 stars!!!. need to re-decorate, poor internet service, dining room is dirty...chairs need replacing or re-covering. wifi inadequate -- connection had to be repeatedly reset, shabby furnishings and sink, noisy fan, depressing ambience, nonfunctional light fixture, terrible coffee. Some of the staff was friendly, but the one that wasn't really worked your nerve. I'm not big on people knowing English, but some staff was so inaudible I couldn't understand a word, that causes problems. My key card didn't work sometimes, not too upset about that; but it was annoying. Didn't tell me they had parking so I parked in front of the Karaoke Bar I could of got a ticket. So long story short, communication could of been better. The housekeeper. My first day there and trying to get a nap, she knocked on the door two separate times and woke me up. The last day I put my sign out to not bother me and she knocked on the door at 0930 - just checking - I was a bit angry about that as I wanted to sleep in because I had a long drive ahead of me to get home. The feeling I was on a set of walking dead tv show - chained up lounges on second floor. bed was not comfortable, especially the first stay. On the return stay the bed was a little better but still not great. Could feel every spring in the mattress (especially in the first room.) Pillows were not very good. The smell was musty. The walls in the rooms were 'bubbly...looked like someone painted over bubbled wallpaper. The bathroom door didn't close properly. The lampshade was all bent. Memory Lane visit to the Blueboy, so didn't matter too much... Hope we didn't get bedbugs!.. they said I would have shuttle service to and from airport but they did not not in the am when I had to leave. The room, the parking garage. Will never stay at the Super8 Vancouver again. Place requires major upgrades, it is rundown and dirty. Old! Peeling wall paper, nothing has been replaced since opening day. I'm guessing even the beds. I wish letsbookhotel.com has a cancellation friendly policy for when you arrive and it's not at all what was advertised. Breakfast was horrible. Staff were absolutely rude. Very poor customer service.The manager, Mel Espadilla, was not very concern when I informed him how unhappy we were about the service, he said he was busy. Will never ever use the motel again and will definetly spread the word about the awful service. We booked this hotel because they had a airport shuttle service, however they fail to state that the shuttle operates limited hours and we therefore had to pay $20.00 cab fare twice!! Also we were promised a box breakfast due to our early departure but never received that either. The drain in the tub was plugged and hot water took forever to get to the 6th floor room that we were in. I doubt that I'd recommend this hotel to my fellow travellers. Very bad network with always disconnect. Not sure where the stairs led and could not access them from the lobby. Hotel was not well maintained and had a distinct odor, room was uncomfortable (bed was like plywood and A/C didn't work), neighborhood was not very safe, breakfast wasn't really worth eating. Very hostile staff, washbasin was blocked, free airport shuttle was the key reason we booked as we had a early morning flight, but they denied the shuttle at early morning hours post check-in so had to spend money on cab also. - Couldn't shut traffic noise out. - Bedding was not freshly changed. - Place is very old and dingy.
