The first thing that I noticed was that the staff was very friendly to everyone. The rooms seemed very clean. The verandas looking over to the pool was fantastic. The pool area was very enjoyable specially when the birds were singing. I also liked seeing a guard walking by at night. I really loved the stay and my friends and I talked about going back. I also recommended to other people. I highly recommend Ambassadeur Suites as a choice of stay. My daughter and I stayed over March Break and had a fantastic time. All the staff were very friendly and courteous and even went as far as to assist me when asking about another hotel guest whom I met (Manhattan Steve) who I never got to say good by to, would have been nice to stayed in touch with :( Fabulous Place !! all reviews » Spacious room, Staff very helpful when we first arrived the receptionist gave us a room that was supposed to be non smoking but as we got in the smell was so striking so we just asked for a change and she did it straightforward. The hotel was very close to the city of Quebec, in just few minutes your arrive at the old town, and 5 min away for the Lac des chutes Montmorency. I loved the exotic feel of the pool area with its plants, birds, and balconies. It was just like the photo and it was great to be able to unwind with a swim. The staff was friendly and helpful and the 800 bus to the old city is nearby and comes often. The indoor balcony lounge is great. We got take-out and ate there. The view is of the pool, atrium and outside. The pool, whirl pool and splash pad areas are surrounded by tropical plants and many bird cages with Love-birds. Very sweet!. The location was great, it was 10 min away from old Quebec by car and it was close to the montmorency falls. The room was nice and spacious. It was clean. Also there was a great choice of restaurants right across the street. Seeing we only stayed an overnight, and appreciated the spa/pool for relaxing after long road trip. Room very comfortable and clean. And opportunity of inside galery for overseeing the pool style garden. Great value for the money. Staff were friendly. The pool and splash pad area were amazing. The smell of Chlorine at each level because of the hotel's swimming pool and spa nearby. Breakfast is not included. (However, there is a breakfast place right up the block). We had to wait an hour for a luggage cart to become free in order to check-out (and we tried to check-out well in advance of check-out time). The train tracks were right behind our room on the ground floor so if noise bothers you take that into account. There was no fridge and breakfast wasn't included but considering the great price it didn't really bother me that much. Sorry to say, were not aware that the restaurant inside Hotel under renovation but same time many just a few minutes walking distance. A fridge and microwave would be nice. Restaurant in hotel was only open for breakfast. Beds were a little hard. There was no changing room in the pool area. The air conditioner was very loud. This needs to be fixed. I received a 6 am "wake up call", that I did not request. At 7:15, a man from the staff let himself in my room without giving me time to answer the door & at 9:45 the maid walked in without knocking -_-'. there was no continental breakfast included in the price... The room ventilation system was very noisy, especially when switching on. The loud noise interrupted our sleep frequently and nightly. the pool should be open until 3 am. Pool closes at 10pm, when 11pm would have been more convenient for our purposes. Lack of restaurants open in later hours. Even the kfc next door closed at 10pm. You could tell it was a lower cost hotel, the hotel carpets had a smell of many people going through it. The rooms were clean on the surface but just looking at the carpets in the hotel room and the surrounding accessories you knew a lot of people had gone through this hotel, before a major re-furbishing was done. I am not trying to talk negative against the hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful, but overall you could tell that this hotel had taken a beating. Regards,. We only had one night there. No breakfast provided. Restaurant was under construction - not available. A little far from city, but bus was convenient. Carpet in hall needed cleaning. There was a strong smell of chlorine throughout the hotel. Someone spilled a sticky messy drink on my car door handle. bar was too noisy and not comfortable. They didn't clean the coffee maker in the room nor did they refill it. the hotel's resturant was out of commission. My room does not has a fridge and I missed it a lot... There's no exhaust/vent in the washroom and fridges. The pool was a bit too cold and a bit too small when there is many swimmers... We had 2 rooms on 4th floor facing the St-Lawrence River and Quebec City skyline. Unfortunately the sealed thermos windows in both rooms were broken and we could not see outside because of the presence of a fog trapped within the window panes. I was disappointed that the toilet took 3 tries to fully flush, the carpet was damp, and the light between the beds did not work. a fridge in the room would have been helpful. the smell of chlorine near the pool area, the noisy ice machine if room is close,. Further out from centre than was indicated and windows did not open so no fresh air and air conditioning noisy. Smell of chlorine was everywhere. Air conditioning did not work on second night. No breakfast in morning. Overpriced had kingsize bedsuite for 158$ can get same even better bedding for really less 100-120$ max The pool w balcony pics has been taken w really ultra large angle camera and its in fact very small. Cleanliness of the room was substandard. Carpet was very dirty. no good facilities. The state of the room and the pool area. Vthe AC in the room was filthy and dusty everywhere. Had to leave due to allergies which are normally not an issue. Hot tub had foam all over the top (dead skin cells). Terrible smell of chlorine in whole hotel especially in the rooms face to the pool. Impossible to open windows in the rooms. everything. No free breakfast. No in room refrigerator nor microwave. Noisy heating ventilating unit. Carpet humped up in hallway. Stingy with the in room coffee. Murky pool water. Dangerous spa entry - no railing to hold on to. Can't see steps. Dim pool area lighting. Bed wasn't made properly after 1st night.
