Great place to be while in Montreal. One of the best locations: very close to the Metro (2 stations to the old city...), to the Spectacles Quarter, to St. Denis and the restaurants. The room is very nice, with all the amenities needed and very clean..Parking is right across the street ($12 for 24 hours). The staff is very friendly and helpful. All together: very pleasant and great value for the money. We really enjoyed staying there.
all reviews » Despite some reviews, the location is excellent. Short walk from the club district, and a 10min metro ride from the cities main attractions, including Central station. There are the occasional pan handler, etc, but you'll find these in any city, in subways, parks etc. If that sort of thing bothers you, you probably shouldn't leave your house. Its the diversity of life that makes life and adventure. I thought that this hotel was really good and afforadable. Before we got there I felt that the location was a bit sketchy but it turned out amazing and everything was close to each other. The hotel receptionist and staff were really friendly and helpful with directions. I would come back and stay here again :). The room was comfortable, clean and the A/C kept the suite comfortably cool. The hotel is very close to Ste Catherine Street, shopping and the metro. Cheap & SECURED parking was just across the street - but it was in addition to the hotel cost - about $12 per day. I was on a 2 days trip in Montreal. I'd booked a shared bathroom room and was proposed a room upgrade for 10$. I took it and it was the best decision I made. It had a jacuzzi, really nice and clean. I'd ask for room 101 on my next trip. Close to everything..cute rooms...different atmosphere from standard stuffy hotel..we were on the fourth floor and it was quiet and comfortable...the money saved permitted more shopping and sightseeing without lowering our standards. I liked the fact that it was relatively inexpensive. It was a little funky and not fancy, but very comfortable and parking was easily accessible. The staff were very nice. The price was excellent. I didn't like that there was no hair dryer and the noises from the other rooms and above could be heard. No elevator, but the hotel is an older building, so that makes sense. We didn't mind the climb to the 3rd floor. The jacuzzi didn't work even though the hotel advertised a working jacuzzi in the room. The room was a little small and the walls were thin. There was no iron. There was no ice machine. There was no microwave. There was no closet space or dressers. My only complaint is that the air conditioner was really loud. It was hot in the room, so I wanted it on, but it was so loud I had to turn it off and suffer through the heat all night. And also, I would have paid just a tad bit more to have a continental breakfast. The other hotel we stayed at in the same area was only a few bucks more and had coffee and muffins. Comfort is poor, many noises coming from the hallway, birds into the rooftop... Comfort négligeable, beaucoup de bruit provenant du corridor, oiseaux dans le toit. There were only two washrooms for the whole building (4 floors) I'd be afraid if the place was packed over the summer. Internet connection was so bad on the 3rd floor and I had to use it on the 2nd floor. One of the staff moved the router for me next morning and it worked that time, but I couldn't use at night at all. They changed room for me next day, and it worked well on the 1st floor. For some reason, our telephone rang every morning at 6:40, even though we didn't set any wake up call or anything like that. no elevator, stayed on fourth floor. Staff implied the neighbourhood was not that safe. No facial tissues available. Had to go upstairs for the bathroom No internet connection in our room. Lack of cleaning. Facilities are new but some stuff is broken (ie waterdamage to the ceiling in the bathroom) No coffe machine in the bedroom. No hair dryer in the bedroom... Tyniess body towel ever... Price not so budget, especially when taxes are added Internet did not work in room (although advertised). No elevator. arrived at 1:30 -- rang bell -- nobody at reception desk until 2:00 pm. Parking not easy to get to. A little dated. Parking may be an issue. No lift Very small room. There was a double bed only not a queen size as expected The mattress was uncomfortable one of the rooms had a defective light switch that was not repaired. The bed was uncomfortable, the television would randomly change channels, and there was an unasked for wake-up (or at least phone ringing) every morning at 7:30am. There wasn't a very deluxe feeling in our deluxe room. Small. Light switch won't work properly.. Seriously it cost 5$ to repair... Was a little dirty but not unbareable. First room for parents in basement, no view, noisy behind reception. 'Suite' was two joining bedrooms (no lounge area) at top of 3 or 4 long narrow flights of stairs. No lifts, difficult with cases and for elderly parents. Parking area did not appear very secure. Location was central, close to the subway, but there was a park nearby where homeless and drug-addicts got together. Cold in the room. I did not get the bed-size I chose when I booked the room. A bit pricey for what you get especially since no breakfast included. Thin walls - could hear other lodgers few rooms away. internet not working. bruyant, les portes claquent fort lorsque non retenues. Internet and parking service. There should be a water dispenser at the entrance. There was no water dispenser. Shared bathrooms with other guests, Poor AC NON-working bathroom ventilation. When I first checked in the room reeked of cleaning chemicals. The beds were lumpy. When I complained to the front desk, they immediately moved me to a better room, that definitely had better beds and no smell. There were insufficient towels as well. cleanliness, noisy, cannot switch on a poor A/C for too much noise in the night. Terrible and incredibly expensive for the offered services! Old and dirty furniture, small window partially without any kind of closure (what will happen in the winter?). No lift, with steep and narrow stairs. Bad quality Wi-Fi, when available. More than 10 hotels in the same street: better to have another chance. In the following days we went to the hotel just in front (***) with service of high quality and breakfast included for 3CAD less for night!!!. The room is so small, the bed is not comfortable at all, and the noises have waken me up 7 times in a night!.

Please note that Hotel Visitel does not have a lift. There are 4 floors and rooms are accessible by stairs only. All of the rooms with external shared bathrooms are located on the 4th floor with no lift. Please note that housekeeping takes place every 2 days. Please note that if there are any modifications or cancellations after check-in, the total price of the reservation will be charged. A security deposit of CAD 150 is required upon reservation for incidental charges. This deposit is fully refundable upon check-out and subject to a damage inspection of the accommodation. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. A damage deposit of CAD 200 is required when you book. This will be collected by credit card. You should be reimbursed on check-out.
