We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The front staff were very friendly and helpful, and they went above and beyond to accommodate parking for our large car. We stayed in one of the larger rooms across the street from the main hotel and really loved our room. It was clean, spacious, had nice hard wood floors, and the bed was comfortable. We never heard traffic outside at night even though there were large windows on two sides of the room. (And the curtains can be unhooked and closed to.

Our rooms were simple, clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The location was convenient and we were able to walk to several popular eating and shopping places. The front desk was so helpful and the location was perfect.We stayed in the annex across the street on the third floor in a newly done room.The parking was a stones through up the street in underground parking which wasnt a problem as it was close and a one wayfor getting outta there. Loved the ambiance! Old, original, comfortable bed, atmosphere!! Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Even tho our room was on the 1st floor on a busy street w/traffic/am- balance, etc. we slept like a baby. I was able to check in early. The breakfast staff were incredibly helpful when I needed a very quick breakfast in order to catch an 8 o'clock bus (breakfast began at 7.30am). The location was very good. location, clean, cool old neighborhood, recently installed AC w/ remote, comfy bed, very clean, free breakfast. Great attitude at front desk, free strong wifi. The hotel is located in a very nice spot in Montréal, near downtown, the gay village, the plateau, and the mount. The bed was very comfortable. Bryan at reception was fantastic in providing assistance and guidance for our say in Montreal. Whilst the property is old, it is comfortable. Clean , central location, could open the windows to let in fresh air, well appointed, good restaurant for (free) breakfast. the restaurant enclosed in the hotel was good and relatively cheap the staff was very friendly the room was OK. Great location , handy to most of the central part & Latin quarter, we walked most of the above, jean talon mkt only 3 stops away on the metro, lots of handy food places in the rue st Denis, & try the great Thai restaurant adjacent to the hotel. Hotel also has some limited parking available, & staff were most helpful with where their was free street parking. Great stay, very interesting city. Location was good although not exactly what we expected from description online. Room was fine, but a bit dark & overlooking courtyard with bins. Staff both in hotel & adjacent restaurant for breakfast really lovely. This was located close to Rue Denis, a very happening place. It was also right on Sherbrooke, making access to the Botanical Gardens and the Olympic Park very simple. The Thai restaurant next door served a lovely breakfast. The room was clean, you have your own bathroom, the housekeeper was very nice and it was close to Old Montreal. Great to stay here for 1 or 2 days. Location was good, rooms were basic but clean. The bathroom was very small and cramped, but that's how it is in buildings that are that old. It was clean and everything worked, so it was fine. The buildings are charming and well-maintained. Everything was good, the bedrooms are a little small, but that was fine, we didn't need extra floor space anyway. Well since the room was just redone we were lacking certain items..they maybe didnt have time to put them in the room as yet. Mirror in room,glasses in bathroom,another trash can,and telephone with a phone book. Also Montreal information as we were across the street from the main hotel and it would have been handy to have some in our room or at the entrance.I Hope they will add some of these items to the room as it will be perfect. Bathtub needed a mat, was slippery. Husband fell stepping in. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice. furnishings really sparse, no coffee maker. I had to carry my luggage up to a third floor by stairs. Breakfast is served in a restaurant outside the Hotel and it is very poor. Not o much of a dislike, but a comment that the experience of the stay at the property could benefit with the provision of tea and coffee making facilities, refrigerator etc and a newer model of television. heavy duvet on the bed in summer!!! and no optional sheet or blanket. We hate unnecessary air conditioning but the street below was a bit too noisy until 2 am to open the windows. room was little. Small room Using shower made the room humid because it was too chilly to open window. Sound from room upstairs, very tiny bathroom. Breakfast had not much choice. no iron in the room. Confusion about breakfast voucher. I was told breakfast was included then later that it was not. Picture I was given ahead of time of the room I was to be given was not the one we got! No bath & tub !. I would definitely advise people who aren't used to city life that night time is very noisy being right on Rue Sherbrooke. didn't love that the room was noisy. The beer is way over priced. Lack of natural ventilation, but we struck an unusually humid period in Montreal. Choice of room- seemed brighter & more spacious from photos. Felt price was a little high. Our friends reserved a "budget double" and we reserved a "superior queen." They were upgraded upon check-in to a "budget queen." It turned out that their room, on the third floor of a building across the street, was brand new: two new queen sized beds, a flat screen tv, etc. Our "superior" room was right behind the reception desk, but it had an old mattress through which I could feel and hear the springs, an old tv, and a staircase beside it up which people were tromping all evening. The room I got was not the picture posted in the discription, #Read the Sq footage because that is what you get. They booked me the Anex across the street so no restrauant for me the staircae to the third floor was a fire escape. No shelves to store your clothes, need shelves in bathroom parking was a joke. Small room, tiny bathroom, uncomfortable mattress, useless tv, noisy ac. Old fashioned design of room, very old TV. Old carpet smell in the hallways. No Refrigerator in room Breakfast was poor. Bedroom was budget but very cramped. Bathroom very small, knees touch wall when on toilet. Hot water supply dodgy. I was only given a comforter to sleep with. Requested a sheet for the next night and none was supplied. Ran out of hot shower in the morning time. Wall corners where falling off. And sheets and towels where yellowish. Not white as they should be. Lot of stairs to walk up from street, so it's not very good for older couple with heavy suitcases. The desk clerk's English was horrible. The night clerk was fine with English. the size of the room no extras , hair dryer had to ask for ,tv was terrable stairs were unbelievable brekfeast was a 5 to far away from everything had to taxi or walk. The unfriendly staff, the lack of parking (basically impossible, none available for us), the staff's inability to stock basic bathroom supplies, the phone that did not work, and the fact that you could hear everything in the hotel. Also, the room we booked on letsbookhotel.com was not the same room we were given at the hotel. We booked the Queen Luxury Suite, which was supposed to have a balcony, but did not. Finishes in room were sloppy, there were holes in the drywall around lights and air conditioner cord. Toilet paper roll was too low. We missed breakfast one day because we were too late but had no mention of when breakfast was over and had paid for it.
