Located in the heart of Nessebar Old Town, less than 100 metres from the sandy beach, Family Hotel St. Stefan offers rooms with cable TV and free Wi-Fi. The hotel is connected to Nessebar Harbour via ancient Roman stairs. Many of the rooms at the St. Stefan have views over the Black Sea and the marina. All have a private bathroom with free toiletries. Each room features original paintings by Bulgarian authors, and there are paintings in the lobby, which are being changed monthly. Guests of the Family Hotel can enjoy meals from the restaurant, or refreshments from the bar on the hotel’s terrace. Family Hotel St. Stefan has a sauna for guests to relax in, which is at a surcharge. A transfer service as well as car rentals are provided on request. The 11th-century Church of St. Stephen, now turned into a museum, is just a few metres away, as well as the ancient Roman Amphitheatre. During summer, shows and art performances can be enjoyed there, with direct views from some rooms.

The location was perfect for visiting the churches, but the cruise ship crowds and tacky souvenir shops really make it hard to enjoy what was once a great little place. However, about 4:00 the folks go back to their ship, and Nesebar is less crowded. Restaurants are empty and Boutique Hotel St Stefan is the perfect place to do it. The staff are all very helpful and the hotel very clean. We had room 202 which had a wonderful sea view though the wooden balcony made it difficult to see when yo.

This is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in absolutely immaculate, fantastic location right in the heart of old Nessebar, many rooms overlooking the sea. Quiet at nighttime no late night revellers, very relaxing and good restaurants, and gift shops all in all excellent. Very good location, right in front of an ancient and beautiful church. The hotel is new and has all the facilities, nothing is missing. We were in a suite without sea view so this was the only weak point but it was our choise because of the price. I liked the fact that it was quiet during the night until about 10 in the morning.The room was clean and comfortable and well equipped. We had a suite on the second floor. A large flat screen TV with a couple of English channels and a three piece suit complete with tea and coffee making facilities made for a lovely stay. But we would stay there again for sure!. - Despite the fact that one member of the staff helped me park my car near the hotel, there are no parking places only at 200m and it is payable (2 leva/hour) and risky to be full. The guy who met us at the parking didn't help us at all with the luggage, maybe it wasn't part of his job but we would have appreciated because we had to climb many steps up to the hotel. Didn't like the fact that the hotel has no outside space (apart from balconies which are too high and solid to sit and look out, you have to stand), The so-called lovely gardens belong to the restaurant of the same name which doesn't belong to the hotel., and their prices are exorbitant. I also didn't like that they were very inflexible about booking breakfasts, if you don't book the day before, they will NOT ask to see if there is any possiblility of a breakfast. No lift so try to pack light. We arrived by car and the island has very restricted parking, The hotel uses a car park behind a barrier and you have to contact the reception for someone to let you in, also when coming onto the island you must turn left, not right, like we did, to get to the correct place, a heads up before arrival would have been very useful. Breakfast served in the dungeon...oops in the basement rather than in a restaraunt. Elevators are not available in the hotel and it is not fun to lift your luggage on the third floor. Wi-fi didn't work in the room, but was not a problem to use our lap-tops in the lobby. poor WIFI signal in the rooms. Cleaness of the bath tub. Staff seemed more concerned with enforcing their own rules than meeting guests' needs. We were not informed that breakfast has to be ordered the day before and we could not get any at the hotel, first we were told to leave the cars parked in front of the hotel then we were told that we had one hour to move them. Avoid the two rooms next to the reception: they are very noisy. In family suit room sofa beds are not Comfortable to sleep. The hotel restaurant is overpriced. I like Old Nessebar but not "Sunnny beach" The hôtel is perfect. Shower leaked on floor. Room was not clean on arrival even after second cleaning still the same dirt. the rest of the staff was uninteressted. The restaurant staff was not friendly so we went somewhere else. Had to park at bottom of hill, carry up bags and then discovered no elevator so another upward climb. "Sofa" bed was a chair and not suitable for anyone over age 10.
