The owners (a friendly Brasilian/French couple) are really super!! They are punctual and caring for their customers. You will receive plenty of good tips from them and they are polyglots. We liked the location in the center of the old Salvador, it's easy and within walking distance of all interesting seeings. It also gave us a feeling of being part of the local community. Don't miss the local folklore dancing spectacle (in only 3 min. walking distance from the Pousada) and the street band in Pe.
all reviews » Nice location, nice view from the room. Great personal,, actually the European owners are so welcoming that you forget every negative detail about the city or your trip. They give the best advices, arrange airport transfer and nice chatting in many languages which you may not find in elsewhere in Salvador. They try to find solution for all special needs. Excellent room with a lovely view of the bay. The breakfasts are wonderful, with many choices of fruits, breads, cheeses and, of course, fruit juice and coffee. Garusa (the owner) was helpful and speaks good English. Staff are friendly and the building is always secure. Salvador is an amazing place - a bit gritty but very colorful and diverse. + very centrally located + good breakfast + clean rooms, maintained every day. + the hosts will help you in organising your stay in Salvador + many restaurants, bars around + great view on the bay + possible to arrange the transport from/to the airport. The hosts were extremely warm and friendly. It really felt like they were opening their home to us. You better chose the upper floors, base floor does not give the security feeling to stay doors open for balcony. No tv in the rooms. Gurusa was sometimes hard to catch as she seemed to have numerous meetings during the day. When she's available, be sure to get your questions answered as she is very knowledgeable. The other staff don't speak any English. - internet only in main hall (according to hosts - this will be improved soon). Room could use more and larger wastebaskets. * Staff doesn't speak English but it's not a great problem.
