The hosts were very welcoming, with much good advice about how to get around and where to visit. The location was great, with a stunning view across the city and the perfect place to explore the Santa Teresa district and the historic city. Good rooms with an excellent breakfast provided a wonderful start to a day of getting to know Rio.

Great atmosphere, hosts very friendly and helpful. We stayed for additional nights further into our trip. Nothing was too much trouble. If our room was free we were let in early.

Uncomfortable bed. Late breakfast, starts at 8.30 (at least it's late if you're travelling with a toddler who wakes up at 6.30 every morning...). Pool was full of algae and we did not want to swim in it. Neighbourhood is very nice but far from many attractions.
This place is disgustingly dirty. It's horrendously expensive given there's dirty sheets, stained towels and a layer of filth covering everything that just makes you want to shiver. Don't waste your money here!.
