Fantastic position in betweem Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. We had the master suite which was perfect if you are travelling with a grown-up son. Fantastic view over the sea and Copacabana! I was jogging barefeet along the waterline every morning! Faboulous! Still it was easy to reach shops and the city centre by underground. Nice people working at the hotel. The hotel is directly at the beach and within an easy walk to Ipanema and Arpoador, both of which are nicer than Copacabana. The sea can get a bit dirty at this end of the beach but then it is a 5 minute walk to the above.

I imagined that every room would have a view, in fact very few rooms do, most look onto the back of the neighbouring buildings. Also, the room was quite small but adequate in facilities. Two main things I did not like was the towel service and the WIFI connection in the room. Staying for nine nights, there were a few nights where the towels had spot stains on them. I would have to exchange sometimes more than once to get spotless towels. As for the WIFI, sometimes it was very slow and there were times where there was no connectivity at all. No View from room, not unusual for most hotels. Small selection at breakfest. Didn't like having to leave. wifi is free, but than it's a bit slow fast wifi is available at a price. Wi-Fi is patchy in the hotel - especially the free option. Pool not as big as the photos show, but with beach right across the road, not a big issue. Very small pool. Very poor wi-fi. Breakfast room very small and often had to wait to be seated. the lack of mat in shower room that I got after pointing out how slippery it is I think you need to put them in all shower rooms. I had no dislikes. Reasonably expensive. Still good value for money but not at a cheap price. Wi-fi connection is weak at the upper floors, so sometimes I had to go to the lobby with my tablet. Anyway there's a bussiness center with two computers and internet connection 24 hours. There was nothing I did not like. I didn't like the restaurant because it is so small. Rate for nz dollars way out of advertised conversion.Dangerous glass shelf gave me head wound as advised to management My room did not have city view as promised.Were negative about deduction of account when I explained I had to leave a day early. Beds were uncomfortable, room was very small, some cleanliness issues but not too bad. Rooms are fairly cramp and my room did not have any view, except the back alley. Rooms could use a little updating and internet reception was very weak inside the rooms. I had to stand next to my front door, just to get reception. And when I did, it was slow, unless you paid extra, for a faster connection, which would be a waste, since I could barely get the hotel's wi-fi reception, unless standing next to the room's front door. Dark rooms at the back of the hotel with no view, but the room itself was ok. The guy in the reception told us the bus to the airport (stopping just outside) woud take 40 min. The trip lasted two hours! Luckily we started early enough to catch the plain. Very small bathrooms and very noisy early in the morning due to construction work at the swimming pool on the top floor. Orla Copacabana Hotel very noisy. Breakfast was very poor. The breakfast room is extremely small and uncomfortable to move around and sit down to eat. The food display area is also too small and crowded. The eggs were too greasy and runny every day, the bacon always overcooked. Too many sweets. I would suggest to add hard boiled eggs and yogurt for the health concious. The windows in the beach side rooms do not block the outside noise. I suggest double-glaze windows. Bed could be a bit more comfortable. small room / noisy fridge / bad odor from air-conditioning. Better hygiene and room comforts should be added. checking out the final bill had a lot of incorrect entries. Lack of view from standard rooms. Not so clean, bathroom towels not changed for a couple of days. Price is very very high compared to the services provided. staff were arrogant and not very helpful. The beds are likes sleeping on concrete. Had back issues each morning. Rooms not that clean. restaurant average. Small room. Pay great value for uncomfy bed . The hotel should not rank as 4 star, it's more like 2-3. standard of service(little knowledge of English)--bathroom was at a 1 star level not 4 Star---.
