all reviews » We couldn't fault our stay here. The rooms were lovely and they even upgraded us from a standard to a superior suite. The roof top pool was a little oasis in the middle of rio and had fantastic views over the ocean. Staff and breakfast were great. The location was perfect for anyone wishing to stay at copacobana- right behind the copacobana palace (nicest hotel in rio) but for 1/2 the price. Highly recommend. First opinion was a bit disappointing but when you get to know the staff they were lovely and the location and price are very good. The swimming pool on the roof was lovely to escape to after a hectic day out. We did two trips booked by the staff at the hotel and they were fantastic. All in all we really enjoyed it here. Very noisy air conditioning units in the rooms which we had to turn off at night in order to be able to sleep. No comments. Rio hotels seem to be really over priced, i suppose it was good value for money in that context. On a wider scale it was pretty expensive for what you get. terrific noise of the airco and street. There is some noise from the street even with window closed. It would be better if they were double glazed. Room was in fact smaller than it looked on the pictures, walls are too thin (we got woken up at 2am by loud talking in the room next door). A bit rustic, and outdated within the rooms. Also, could offer more channels on the TV. the interior need to be renovated , dont expect the star s classification in Brasil to be same as other countrys , alsways make 1 star less at least ( if u looking for 4 u will get it 3 ). it is quite expensive. the air conditioning was too loud and i had to turn it off, and could not open the window since the street is very loud. (we found this in several Rio hotels), and a medicocre breakfast. Basically a 2 star hotel at best, and decent if you get a price under 50 euros. We paid over 100 euros!!!. Hotel is very old. Sky bar & swimming pool was closed. Everything in the room very old fashion. Staff wasn't helpful at all, and they hardly speak any English. Breakfast is rubbish. It is not 4 star Hotel at all. I would grade this hotel 2 star because of it's location. 1.The pool did not work 2. nobody at the pool 3. when pool worked closed upstair the bar... after 2200 couldnt even get a dink upstairs 4. supersmall room 5. staf not pro active, lazy to give info 6. dirty table cloths breakfast 7. screaming airconditioning you could not sleep when it was on.
