I really enjoyed the hotel, the staff was very helpful. My family does not speak portuguese (I do it), so the staff spoke in spanish with them.
We came early the day of the check-in, however since the bedroom was without people, they let us do the check in before the hour. In our last days the staff also helped us to book a tour to Ilha Grande, and also the cab to the airport in our final day (we leave the hotel close to 3 am).

The rooms are newly renovated and very clean. The room we had was just the right size for 2 people and bathroom is in excellent condition. Despite speaking limited English, staff are helpful. Around the corner is a burger place and across the road is a juice place and also, a really nice sandwich bar and restaurant. About 10 minutes walk to Copacabana beach.
This was my second consecutive stay in two weeks window period in the same hotel.
The Location, Staff with pleasing personality who can try to answer your specifics, Earlycheckin, WIFI,clean rooms are real plus for the money that you may pay in such a location compared to others in vicinty.

end up in a noisy and old room, especially if you stay in one of those
Cobacabana-Ipanema 70's buildings.This hotel is also like that but
at least the price is decent and the position in Copacabana is ok. Only
the bathrooms are renovated nicely.
Front desk staff very helpful, specially on morning shift. Continental
breakfast included. 3 block walk to the Copacabana beach, and accesible
to/from Rio (location). Has elevator. Room for 4 people (we were 3)
worked fine. Flat tv with basic saellite and a/c that wasn't
too noisy.

Location is excelent, however is a little bit creepy at nights (like most streets in copacabana BTW), some junkies asked for money in front of the hotel, but a police man scared them. If you have enough money maybe you should choose Ipanema, Barra or Leblon.
The lift was faulty when we were there. The outlook and lobby looks shabby but be assured that the room is in great condition.

Bed linen were horrible, old and not even covering the mattress. Rooms
are really old and don't appear clean.
Price, too excessive for low budget accomodation ($200 per night for an
econolodge type $55-65 per day hotel, although in Rio/Copacabana
seems to be one of the very limited options available for
"low" budget options). Outside the hotel smells terrible,
feels like a downtown alley. If you don't return the key in the
morning, staff won't be able to clean your room. No security box in
room. Staff only talks portuguese.
Very basic rooms, renovations kicked off at 8am two mornings with drilling, etc.
