Dont let the reviews fool you, this is actually one of the better hotels in Copacabana for the price! We stayed in several 4 star (expensive) hotels that were not any better!!!. I was on the suite azul was so nice the room was big enought and the privat piscine was just perfect with the weather of rio ! Ill get back for my next trip ;). clean, safe, comfortable, right on the beach ...good breakfast.

Room size (too small), same breakfast everyday. Bellman gave me taxi to airport which cost 80 brl instead of regular 65 brl. The electronic system in hotel seems to have many problems. single rooms are VERY small. Restaurant for breakfast is not so big and sometimes you have wait for a seat. Tv wasnt working properly. City tour is much expensive than in other hotels. Safe didn't work, I was told "just leave your things in your bag in the room it should be ok" The gym - four rubbish pieces of equipment, nothing like the picture. Also had to get it opened most mornings as someone forgot. The male staff on reception were rude. Perhaps I am really out of touch with with Rio prices in low season, but us$150 per night for an extremely small room (fits nothing more than a tiny twin bed) and a fold out desk, plus a toilet seemed just ridiculously high. The staff seemed joyless --unhelpful when some unusual charges showed up on my bill. You have to pay to use the internet ?!? That's ridiculous nowadays ! Really really small room, pretgy expensive. Cant understand where the 3* come from. Recepcion and belboy is very bad.. They didnt help me any time.. Hotel and worker is problem so much.. Plase,dont go to Hotel due to you have unhappy... That price is very expensive... All rooms is small bad and small room... I never wont go to capacobana Astoria Hotel.... If you unhappy when you must go to this hotel.... unfriendly staff...poor service all around..it seems like no one there enjoys what they do ..i recommend to all staff to find a job where they can throw all their rude manners as part of their daily routine...
