We came back from Brazil three weeks ago, our last night we stayed at
Castelo Valentim. Such a great location! If you really want to
experience the real Rio you should stay in this romantic, old
neigbourhood( Santa Teressa) There are so many great things to
discover when you walk around, small pubs, exellent restaurants and
great nightlife. The hosts where very friendly and helpful they will
give you all kind of information about where to go and what to
do/see. They also tell you the interestin. all reviews »
The owners speak English very well and are incredibly friendly and helpful, giving helpful tips for seeing the city, including neighborhoods and events that we wouldn't have known to check out. The views from the balcony are wonderful, as is the extensive breakfast. The bedroom does not have a bathroom attached, but there is a full bathroom right across the hall, and it's private for the guests. The castle, replete with an underground tunnel and old-school elevator, is just as charming as Santa.
The hotel is a true castle which has his own history. It is very well preserved and cozy for the guests. The view from its balcony is simply breath taking, the best I have ever seen. We arrived late and hungry, the owners have provided for us hot tea and sandwiches and chocolates, with no additional cost. We had a romantic tea on the balcony looking at night lights of rio. The castle is the highest point in the area, so sunrise and sunset are amazing. We needed an early breakfast (06 am) and we.
This is a truly unique B&B in a fabulous historic building right in the heart of beautiful Santa Teresa. The owners went out of their way to be helpful and phoned ahead to secure our travel arrangements and overcome any languages barriers. The Castle is amazing and fully worth walking by even if you don't choose to stay here. The view of Rio is breathtaking. I definitely recommend a stay there.
The owner and his wife have been very kind and helpful. They can give you every guide as to your trip and help you arrange your journey to your best convenience; The view from the balcony is great; you can see almost all parts of the Rio de Janeiro; The breakfast is very good with a wide range of varieties.
Excellent place to stay, the owner was of great help and treated us with
excellent service. People usually complain about service in rio but this
was not the case, will highly recommend staying here. By the way, the
view is beautiful, you can see great part of RIo from you room.
What great nice little "secret' to stay in Rio de Janeiro, a
room with a almost 50 meter "private" balcony with 300 degrees
super view over Rio. This must be one of the finest places I ever stayed
anywhere in the world. Tnx Luis and Rejane for sharing this!.
Great location. The owners were very welcoming. The view is spectacular. This is about my fifth time in Rio and this is defenetly the best place to stay at. Looking foward to come back.
Unique location with stunning views, very hospitable and kind owners. You feel at home. I would go back immediately when visiting Rio.
The room is comfortable and connected to a terrace that looks out on a fantastic view of Rio de Janeiro.
The owners are very nice and friendly. The castle is a unique experience. Beautiful location.
A lovely and accessable apartment with a warm atmosphere, kind hosts and a spectacular view.
The hospitality, location and the view. The breakfast. The staff always ready to help.
The location might challenge some guests - it's about a 15 minute uphill walk from "downtown" Santa Teresa, and at night it can be difficult to navigate the streets back.
We wanted to stay more!!!!!.
Nothing.
Nothing, everything was better than expected.
Only thing I suggest is to have a coffee machine for the ones that
wake up early.
Airport pick up was not a success, but was fully recognized by driver and no hard feelings at all from my side, sh.. just happens when you travel...
