So far, everything. After booking for two nights, I've decided to stay longer. It's such a well-run place with great staff, who are very friendly like Sarajevo in general. The rooms are large, furnished very well with a fine table and seating and the Internet connection is very good. There's a great choice for breakfast as well. I've been travelling for three months, and of the many hotels I've stayed at, Hotel Italia has been the best value for money. Patrick Sweeney.
all reviews » It's easy to get to the city centre by taxi (it only costs about 3 Euros and takes a few minutes). Free parking is available outside the hotel. Room service is very good in the hotel and the breakfast is also quite nice. Sarajevo is just one of the best places to go to in Europe and we highly recommend this hotel to everyone who is looking for a low budget yet good quality service. Staff was great, very helpful and polite. The hotel has a old decoration but it's clean and comfortable. The rooms are spacious with basic amenities. It has private closed parking. Despite not being in the city center, it's very easy to get there by taxi or by tram (7 minutes walk). It's a nice place to stay if you want to visit Sarajevo at an affordable price. At first I thought they made a mistake because the room was huge with seating area like a living room, separate bedroom and nice bathroom. Excellent TV with English cable channels. Also good air conditioning.And buffet breakfast included in room price was very good. And staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is great value for the price. Our room was large and clean, breakfast was more than adequate (choice of omelet in addition to pastries, cereal, etc,), and there are 2 private parking garages with security. WiFi worked perfectly, and staff was professional. Good place to stay 1 or 2 nights. it was clean, stuff was polite and helpful,location is ok about 30 min walking from the center and 5-10 min by tram which you can take in 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. beds are comfort, all in all average 3 stars hotel. I went during winter which was a low season. So, I got a really nice room :) The staff are few, but they are all very helpful and nice. The room is always cleaned, and overall was a nice choice in winter. We got a free upgrade to a big room, and the clerk ordered food for us as we were a bit late. Very clean room, friendly staff, good parking, Breakfast was good and they kept refilling stuff. Very helpful front desk. They speak excellent English and were super helpful at everything. Breakfast is good though. Location - close to trolley bus route and bus and train station. Location of parking just across the entrance of the hotel. Very little. The breakfast is the main issue. One day I found mold on the bread and the variety is basic, but if you are not very selective it can be ok. Definitely they should make an improvement on the breakfast. I liked everything. But, hotel was about 4 or 5 blocks to tram line. On the other hand though, hotel was very close to bus and train station. The walls are not as soundproof as you might want, and the heating is centralized so you can't change it. Also, the location is 5-10 mind drive from center...no problem with car, but keep this in mind. Restaurant also closes at 4 pm and nearby eateries a bit if a walk, so stock up on food if you come late. they can improve breakfast as there are not many things to choose and if you go little bit late r9.30-10.00 it's almost empty. 1- The the bread during the breakfast is always not fresh. (Low season effect) 2- Rooms don't have safe-locks for valuables. No airco in the room, but the price was very good so that made up for the warm night. The only drawback is that the hotel is not walking distance from city centre but taxi cost me only €3,00. A bit run down. There were 3 balconies but the handles had been snapped off two of the doors. The windows and doors didn't close properly. Quite a 70's feel to the place. However good value and would recommend to the unfussy. The cereal ran out at breakfast and there was no more. We were early for breakfast. quite far from the centre - really too far to walk, tram quite near, a very strange disturbing smell in my room - I dont know - perhaps from a new carpet, dont know, can get noisy during weekends when there are weddings. Almost not a thing. Far from the center One staff member was not friendly and not helpfull. Lack of a (good and open) restaurant on site. So much more as such generally seems hard to find in Sarajevo. A bit of a walk from the old town. Elevator doesn´t work from 3-7 floor,. Location lack of local bars etc. The location of the hotel is a bit suburb but easily to go wherever by taxi. WI-fi in the room worked bad and only temporarely. Hotel offers only bad and food. (no fitness, jacuzzi or something). Room previously used by smoker. Can always be better but for the money this is the maximum. Not in a best days anymore. liquid soap. A bit far from city centre, so you need tram or a 25 minutes walk to get to it. During the cold days, heating is not so good. It is actually quite cold in the rooms. Outdated, old rooms... Many things in my room were old,broken or not working. And it was not that clean at all. Only reason to go back again is the price. It's stuck in the 70s, with old worn furnishings and paintwork. Smells of smokers. Breakfast is very poor, coffee is not included. Unhelpful attitude of the staff; location was a real pain; Constant sink of cogarettes everywhere. a real contrast to the rest of the city which was lovely.
