Shangri La B&B offers far more than a B & B. It largely exceeded our expectation and it's very good value of money, comfort, clean, quite, hospitality, good breakfast. There is a terrace on the top of the building where one can sit down comfortably with a view of the city. The location is best for visiting the Mostar bridge and the old town, 2 minutes walking distance but very quite. We believe that it's the best choice in any sense for visiting Mostar. Highly recommended.
all reviews » Shangri-la is beautiful, with exceptional decor and comfortable beds, couch. The hostess/host are kind and helpful, the kind of hospitable people who make you want to return. The breakfast, which we enjoyed one morning, was much better than most in the region, with a variety of foods, including eggs cooked to order. I felt safe; everything worked. The only reason we used another pansion later in the trip is that we wanted a kitchen. Shangri-La is very close to the old bridge. Superb location, just a few steps from the old quarter of Mostar. Also very comfortable and well appointed with great attention to detail by the friendly and helpful owners. Breakfast was great, and spent a fascinating half hour or so chatting to the co-owner about the Balkan war in Mostar, and how a bombed out building was transformed into this beautiful and modern B&B. Both Anita and Nermin were fantastic. Extremely helpful in organizing transfers and giving us tips around Mostar. The place was very clean and well run and if you have the time, the terrace is deck is great at sunset. We stayed at a few 4-5 star hotels on our trip (Pucic Palace, Astoria (twice in Montenegro), the hospitality at Shangri-La out shined them all. The location was perfect-a stone's throw from the Old Bridge. The staff was friendly ans accomodating. Excellent breakfasts were provided. The room was very comfortable and spacious. I had the best sleeps on my entire trip through Bosnia, Hercigovina and Croatia at the Shagri La. I can't recommend it highly enough. Everything was excellent. We arrived before the check-in time and there was no problem to get the room earlier. The day was extremely hot but air conditioning worked perfect and room was really fresch. Nothing, everything was great. Everything perfect!. Access to the B&B is up quite a steep rough-surfaced pedestrian-only pathway which is not easy to find. The morning I left it had been raining heavily and the path-way was transformed into a flooding rivulet. Any guest arriving with a lot of luggage would probably not have been able to get up. Egress with only a small carry-on was almost impossible and certainly my shoes were sodden when I finally got to the street. No parking places next to the hotel. It's not the hotel's fault though, city hall has closed the road leading to the hotel. Parking available in the city. Nothing at all. The horror of the war is easy to see in Mostar where many buildings are ruins. This hotel is an oasis in the midle of all that. We felt the room furniture and the bathroom was a bit outdated. Parking on such a steep hill was not my cup of tea....finding the hotel was yet again difficult, but there was friendly help from people on the streets. Nothing. It could do with a better sign to the hotel from the main road but otherwise it was a fine place to stay. Hard to find as it is a little off the road and the signage is poor. The breakfast was fine and what you expect in a European hotel. It would have been wonderful if it were more Bosnian with local pastry and Bosnian coffee. Not easy to find. Parking a problem after the local authorities have reduced the access to the hotel by half. The place is not easy to find with no proper signage on the street. Navigation system (GPS) could not locate it properly but it also did not recognize a lot of streets in all of Mostar. Parking is available but awkward. Parking by the car was a little tricky. Can not use pakring lot in front of the house because of the construction in access road. But it was ok because I could park on the main road without any charging. Nothing. Almost perfect. not accesible by car. The internet was not working, but they gave me a small discount in the hotel price. Other than that everything worked out good. No negative comments. Just need to pay attention to the entrance and you will find the hotel easily. The slope is a bit long. It was super hard to find the hotel. They need better signage. The road to the parking was closed (not hotel's fault though), so we didin't have parking as promised - this means climbing a steep side road to the hotel. Walk up bumpy drive way but not a problem really. not accessable by car, not easy to find. All good. One way street made it difficult to locate, but the host came after calling him and collected us, great. Car entrance temporary blocked. If you've got heavy luggage, you should take a taxi as it is quite long way from the main bus station. However it is just next to main city attractions.
