The staff were incredible. Laura and her parents really do make this spot a serious gem. I had just come off a long and early morning flight, Laura arranged for an airport transfer for me, so it was a relief to arrive and have someone waiting for me to help with my luggage. I arrived a while before check in and Laura was such a sweetheart. She let me sit and use the wifi while they made up a room for me and i checked in early. She printed out a map for me, showed me the good places to go for fo. all reviews »
Well, where to start... Everything was great. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful and goes out of their way. Claudia, the maid is Spanish but didn't understand my spanish.. Might be a problem with my Spanish.. hahaha... Laura is absolutely a beautiful person and makes you feel at home... helps in everything even if it is not guest house related. I would definitely stay there again. You can't get a better place for the money. Service is way better than other expensive hotels. Thanks Bella So.
Laura Alvarado was extremely helpful. We used this guest house as our starting point for our stay in Belize and Laura was extremely knowledgeable and more important, she never made us feel rushed or that we may be interrupting her. To Laura, her guests came first. Claudia did an outstanding job keeping our room neat and clean. Our room was spacious and clean and all the amenities advertised were present. I would highly recommend this guest house to anyone looking for a place to begin their.
Laura is amazing. She is so thoughtful and friendly. She will do anything to make sure you have what you need and get what you are looking for. She always went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. The rooms are very clean and very comfortable. It's very close to both water taxi stations. I definitely recommend it as a relaxing stop if you are jumping to one of the islands or catching a bus to a neighboring country.
This is one of the nicest places I've stayed in on my travels. Laura has created a lovely relaxing environment. The rooms are huge with every facility including your own kitchenette and bathroom. The bed is the most comfortable I've slept in and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Laura was very helpful and friendly. She helped us find places to eat and arrange things for us to do.
The rooms were surprisingly big. The beds were comfy.
Her brother drives the taxi and he is a wealth of knowledge.
The location is close to the swinging bridge and downtown.
We loved the friendliness and helpfullness of the staff. Laura, the owner, was very helpful with everything from where to eat to booking tours. It was a very friendly and social place to stay with Laura, her family, staff and other guests all taking the time to be friendly.
If you have to go to Belize City and you are looking for somewhere clean, caring and a refuge from the town, this is a really good place. The owner truly cares and that makes a big difference.
I loved how the owner Laura treated us like family. She was so knowledgeable about the area. She absolutely made us feel at home. I highly recommend Bella Sombra Guest House.
Laura was amazing!! One of the most helpful and amazing people to have
met on my trip. She was always happy and accommodating and made sure I
was taken care of.
The owner Laura was fantastic at helping us get on our feet, keeping us safe, and giving fantastic advice! Anyone would enjoy staying here. :).
Room was very clean, had a comfortable bed, warm and cold water, and air
conditioning. I stayed cool and comfortable here.
it was close to restaurants and grocery. although that part of town seemed sketchy.
Centrally located in Belize City, inexpensive, comfortable,
fantastic hosts.
Laura is great. She can help with any issues and is very accomodating.
clean
bright room
Laura is very helpful
amenities included in the room.
Very nice and clean place to stay.
Nice confortable place.
Laura, the owner is welcoming and nice. The bed sheets are cleaned. The central location.
Belieze city isnt the greatest of places. Trust me when i say dont stay in the city unless you need to, like if you have an early flight connection or a tour booked or something. Any place where you have to take your watch and jewlry off to walk down the street doesnt seem ideal to me. The people were overly friendly, to a point where i felt like they wanted something from me, which for a young girl travelling alone isnt a reassuring feeling.
Nothing to mention here as I was fully satisfied.
There was some construction being done on the guest house while we were there. It was noisy, but luckily we left before they began the additional rooms construction.
Nothing. It was all great!.
The showers very clean but the water pressure was a little weak.
At first glance, the area seems a little run down and I worried about our safety. Laura assured us that it was safe. We walked everywhere and had no problems. People were helpful and friendly.
Our stay was perfect. There was nothing that I did not like.
The bar down the street was noisy at night, but that's to be
expected in Belize City. I still had no problem sleeping.
the front desk was vacant alot of the time. but very helpful when someone was there.
neighbourhood is a little shady at night.
If i were you i would stay at caye caulker ~island close to. belize city~ i am sure you understand....hehe he.
The location, in front of a local karaoke that plays until 2 AM, the construction works (they are building a second floor) starting at 7 AM, the general humidity of the room, the used carpets on the floor.
