Very good location, just 3 minutes from metro station Shuman. You can easily get the city center for 5 minutes. I'm pleased to stay in this hotel and recomend it for everyone. I had a hard programme during my stay, so I did not tell nothing to the staff, but there were two little things to improve - in my room two big lamps did not function (the one on the table and the one behind the armchair); on 15th July in the morning during I was having my breakfast the waitress did not notice me for the whole time I was there even I was trying to capture her attention.no. Could use a mirror in room so one person could be getting ready in room if other person is occupying bathroom.The lobby doesn't fit the standard of the hotel rooms, the rooms are too warm during the night and i did't know how to reduce the heat (maybe that was my mistake, because i should ask or look better and i didn't). There was no place in the parking and we had to park our car near the hotel door. We were lucky that it was free during weekend and we could find there place for our car. I added to note that we would need a parking place but it seemed that nobody red it. The bed was not so big and it was difficult to stay there with our 3 years old doughter - this is just for info :-). very expensive breakfast. in some rooms the WI-FI signal is not strong enough. lack of information from staff. average price sunday to tuesday - ok, during-week-price too high. The price was very good for a 4star hotel - but the modest room (most liekly not renovated for some time) explains the price. I could not find a TV guide in the room.The male staff member seems nonchalant if you do not speak French; but the ladies are very helpful. Also they close the front door after late evening. You have to ring a button to get a staff member to open the door by pressing another button inside. This can be annoying sometimes. But they say it is for the safety of the guests. So I guess the neighbourhood can be dangerous at night. Our non-smoker room was not cleaned previously and then we had to go to the 4th floor where are the rooms for smokers. The hotel is not a 4 star hotel, it's a 3 star at most.I wasn't asked whether I wanted a smoking or non-smoking room, the one I was allocated was smoking and the smell did take time to get used to. I was too tired to return to reception and ask for a change. Breakfast servie poor - was not kept topped up. Having requested an empty container was replaced, was assured it would tkae a 'few minutes' which I was happy to wait. Having waited a half an hour, gave up in despair.

At the end of the motorway follow the signs to the centre, " Centre ville "/ Communauté européenne. Go through the tunnels when you reach the " Basilique de Koekelberg " and turn off at the Belliard (European Community). Follow the Belliard street, keep on the right side of the road and do not go into the tunnels ! ! Overtake the tunnel and go straight ahead, at the 3rd trafficlight after the tunnel take a left (avenue d'Auderghem) Go straight ahead till you reach a roundabout : " Schuman ". Take the 3rd street on the right, rue Archimède and continue till the trafficlight. Take a left and afterwards the first street on your the right, you are in the Boulevard Charlemagne.

Directions to the New Hotel Charlemagne coming from National Airport (Zaventem) or from the Netherlands : Motorway E19
At the end of the motorway follow the signs to the centre till you reach to the right a large roundabout " Place Meiser ". Halfway the roundabout to the right enter the Chaussée de Louvain, still towards the city-centre till you reach a crossing, Place Dailly. At the trafficlight go to the left, you are now on the avenue de la Brabançonne. Continue till the Square Ambiorix, a park-roundabout, halfway park go right and one of the streets on your right is boulevard Charlemagne.

Directions to the hotel coming from Zaventem Airport/the Netherlands/Paris : Motorway E40
Follow Ring East , direction Liège/Louvain (E40) and follow signs to the City-Centre/European Community. Follow the tunnels and you reach the Avenue de Cortenbergh. Go straight ahead till you reach a roundabout " Schuman ". Take the first street right, rue Archimède and continue till the trafficlight. Go left and afterwards take the first street right which is Boulevard Charlemagne.
