Friendly staff and charming hotel. Food was very good. Motion lighting in halls and option for "environmentally conscious" services was great. Te staff were the most friendly and helpful ever. The breakfast was excellent and the rooms were unbelievable beautiful.everything: location, comfort, breakfast. One of the best hotels I have been in. Everything!! Old TV Set,not working Room 701. The double bed was 2 singles pushed together, not very romantic for a 3 year annivesary stay. I asked for a non smoker room, but the room seems to be a smoker room. please provide real non smoker rooms.the room was noisy in the night. Hair dryer: poor and didn't work prpperly. Just one observation was that the TV did not have any sound at all. It was difficult to work out how to work it and once done so still did not have any sound. Only complaint. The rooms were pretty decent. The wallpaper was cracking a bit but everything was clean and the bathroom was remodeled and the shower was so nice!. The garbage in the bathroom was full, and the bath was not clean. It is 150m from the metro 2, but to come to metro 2 you need first to take metro 1 or tram. I found it not to close to the "centre" if you use the public transportation. We have took the superior room but for my taste was just a regular room (this was the reason to take the room).The shower and the room were smaller than expected. the minibar wasn't working on arrival but that was replaced. the pillows were also very uncomfortable but we were given an option of pillows to replace them on request.Breakfast was too expensive!. small reparation of some walls would be required. There is no free available Internet access. It is interesting to note that worldwide, the middle class hotels - not the expensive ones - have free of charge Internet access. Future hotel ratings should take this into account. In general, cleanliness of the room is acceptable but the net curtainsare filty. Double bed is not a double as it's 2 beds joined togetherwith gap in the middle. Wallpapers behind curtain and central heatingare peeling off and dirty.should be renovated or renewed (you can see its getting a bit old, wallpaper is getting loose). Expensive internet use. Housekeeping staff's behaviour unpredictable, sloppy and even rude!. Bathroom was incredibly small. Cf above. And it will soon be trime to make Internet access as free as water and air. Attention! Has no air-conditioning! Weather in Brussels can be sweltering, as well as rainy... On top of that, I ran into a malfunctioning minibar fridge. I alerted Reception, they took down a note and did... nothing! So I resorted to DIY and it turned out to be no more serious than a faulty wall socket. Why would the hotel staff do less than that is a mystery.No air-con. wore down, dirty carpets with spots, a labyrinth to reach the rooms, narrow passages to reach the rooms, very old small elevator. Breakfast too expensive. Bus driver with tourists very rude. Impolite buy phone. When I tried to exted the stay with one night I was bluntly told the hotel was full, which turned up not to be true. Expensive breakfast.Very small bathroom, stifling hot room, ridiculously expensive breakfast (22 Euros). Damaged walls, old TV, digital TV not working, no free wireless, too expensive breakfast. no warm water. They forgot the room breakfast, for the second time.
