Only a couple of mins from Gare du Midi, this hotel was not only convenient but also clean, very comfortable and centrally located. About 20mins walk from Grande Place. The booking had not been changed as requested from 2 doubles to 1 triple, but the receptionist (manager?) offered us a family room at no extra cost. A welcome decision, which made our stay even more comfortable than it would have been otherwise. We did not use any other facilities as it was a late check in and early check out.
all reviews » The staff person who checked us in and out was friendly, efficient, and helpful. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival and that set the tone for the entire stay. Kudos to that associate; I wish I could recall his name. Also, the hotel was very comfortable and quiet, and the room was well appointed. The sound proof windows worked like a charm even though our room was over a busy street. The location was good for us because we used the Midi station coming and going and for a day trip. The staff member who checked me in was so helpful, giving me a map and restaurant recommendations (the one I went to was excellent and the guide price was bang-on). The room was lovely, just the right temperature, no noise from adjacent rooms, plenty of space and a proper double bed (not two singles pushed together). The bathroom was vast! Breakfast offered good choice and quality. it is very nice hotel for a very good price. 15 minutes walk to city center, near to Gare do Midi so pretty convenient to get to anywhere you need, free wifi in the room (however you have to find the right spot :) ), great staff on reception - they recommended couple of restaurants, provided with city map, luggage room also with lockers available after checkout. We chose the hotel because of its proximity to Brussels Midi Station. We used it to break the journey overnight before travelling on to Bruges. It was also close enough to visit the Grand-Place which took only about a 15-20 mins walk. However, there are trams across the road in front of the Brussels Midi Station if you don't wish to walk. The best family suite made up of 2 adjoining rooms, both ensuite, gives parents some privacy, and kids room is only accessible from the parent's room. Belgian chocolates on your pillow, gorgeous room. Overlooking busy street but lovely and quiet with soundproofing. We just walked over the road from the Eurostar.Loved this one. I have nothing to coplain about this hotel. In front of the hotel we have the station 'gare midi'. Easy and quick access to other places. Very friendly stuff. We've booked for a weekend in august, at that time to get a room was cheaper than another period of time. I can only recommand this hotel :). hotel is in excellent location, only five minutes from midi eurostar train station( if you leave from right exit). hotel staff very helpful , arrived at 10.20 and are room was free and ready. hotel was very clean, and room was cleaned daily would stay here again if going by eurostar. I thought the staff were very courteous and willing to help with everything. The room was very clean and comfortable and the free wifi was a bonus. I would stay there again. Being near the railway station is never that glamerous but it was very handy to everything we wanted to see. A really great boutique hotel literally about 100m from where the Eurostar leaves Brussels. Very convenient, no noise in rooms. Looks very modern and recently refurbished. The connection to Brussels central are brilliant and getting to and from the airport is so easy. Unlike most reasonable hotels, the tv channels were diverse. The breakfast was lovely too. Housekeeping could benefit for better quality control: on one occasion the maid apparently forgot to empty the toilet trash and left the previous client's "feedback" card on the dresser! My meetings were on Monday and Tuesday. Room rates were very competitive for Sunday and even Monday nights but exorbitant for Tuesday night. Now, I know this has to do with supply and demand but double the rate? Come on, get real!. This is not the hotel's fault, but Belgian Railways should sign up the hotels from the vast system of corridors in the station. They are all accessible from one exit, but if you exit on the wrong side of the rails it's bad news, and gives a really bad impression of the town. Surrounding area tend to shut down fairly early. Arrived just after 23:30 - bar closed, no mini-bar or tea/coffee making facilities in room had to go outside just to get some water. no cold water - both taps ran hot!. The area around the hotel is not the greatest - noisy, not very clean, but that's to be expected in train station areas. Not a particularly pleasant locality, but less than 100m from the Metro. was a bonus. Just watch out for the showers. Ours only dispensed hot water so we had a change in room, which was offered by the friendly staff. No coffee and tea maker. As Canadians we are used to having this feature in even the simplest hotels. Location to station was a very a dirty, smelly area. Did not venture out after dark. People told me there is not much to see in Brussels and it is more than true. Grand Place cannot be seen or pictured as full of trucks in the morning. Location is great if you're arriving/departing Brussels Midi, but a little far from town center. WiFi isn't consistent, tends to fade, but minor inconvenience for us. no tea of coffee facilities in room. The neihboorhood was not so safe, as a near station place. But everything was ok and hotel had well equiped safety system. Breakfast was tasty and filling but pricey. No wash cloths. The pillows were wimpy. Wifi signal was very low. First night the air conditioning didn't work, and being late and not wanting someone to come to the room at that point, I had to open window facing train station (which was noisy). Then I discovered that there is a master control at the reception desk and probably a simple phone call would have fixed the problem. But, no one told us about how this works, and there were no instructions in the room that this is controlled centrally. Anyone not familiar with Brussels needs to be aware that the location is convenient for the railway station but not the nicest part of town. The view at the back, it did not reflect the beauty of the place. From inside I was in the 5 * hotel not at the back. Nothing. Great location in relation to Eurostar and trains but a bit dodgy area. Area is a bit downmarket...but to be fair most areas in big cities beside train statons are the same. * No hot pot to cook hot water. Cost of secure parking Area not the best View from the room not great. Quite expensive but we found a special offer via letsbookhotel.com. The neighborhood is not the best but anyone with a map and willing to walk a bit will do ok. The most expensive restaurant is closer to the Cascade Midi then one would have thought. The security on off hours is good but a little slow depending who is at the front desk. One had to wait a minute to be let in the front door. The elevator requires a room key which I liked. The room safe could be updated. nothing, everything great.
