We loved our hosts; very accomodating. The breakfast was wonderful with fresh espresso/coffee. Room very comfortable with chairs and small loveseat. Plenty of room. The location is fantastic. It cold be noisy if the windows are left open but if closed it is practically soundproof. We actually slept with them open. The stairs are steep but the website warns you about it so be prepared. Really liked it.
all reviews » Myself and my partner stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. It was very well presented, clean, and had fabulous furnishings. The bed was especially comfortable!! Breakfast was very good. Fresh orange juice, bread, meat and cheese etc. It was in an excellent location and was easy to get to all Brussels had to offer. It was superb value for money. I'd definitely stay again. - The building itself and deco are really nice and with original features. - The little kitchen in the room N*4 is a great idea and its equipped with everything you could possibly need. - Comfortable bed. - Friendly and smiling staff. -Close to the centre; lovely pubs and restaurants in the area. The staff was very nice. Our luggage was lost due to the baggage strike and the staff was as helpful as they could be in the circumstances. The location is great. The breakfast is, as noted, is good, especially the fresh squeezed OJ & the fresh brewed coffee. Great location, within walking distance of the train station and most major tourist attractions. Nice, clean, relatively large and well equipped room. Excellent breakfast. Theo, one of the owners, went out of his way to make our stay a memorable one. Hosts were very friendly, the room was nice and quiet and good to relax in, and it was close by to a lot of good bars and restaurants, which as we popped over on a particularly cold couple of days was very welcome. The staff was very friendly during our stay, the rooms clean, nicely decorated (the round bed is the perfect finishing touch) and comfortable. We enjoyed our breakfast each morning. The lighting could be a bit brighter and the shower is small. . - The doors to the bathroom in the room N*4 is squeaky and doesn't close properly. - Despite the radiators being off, the room was too hot; impossible to open the windows because of the noise coming from the club. - The shower cabin should be treated with a bit of anti-mould spray and cleaned thoroughly. - The panels in the ceiling really squeaky. We were in a room with a round bed. I was not crazy about it. The stairs are very narrow & steep as others have noted. Okay so long as you take them very slowly. The steep, narrow staircase to our third floor room (approximately 63 steps in total). However, we were aware of this prior to making the booking, from information on the website. It was not a major problem for us but it could be for less mobile travellers. The only slight downer was the shower, which would not remain fixed in its overhead holder, but this was a very minor complaint in what was otherwise an excellent stay. Dangerous narrow steep stairs. Common areas small. Precise need to arrive on time. My only complain is that the room was located in the 4th or 5th floor without elevator. As said before "the stairs may be a challenge for some" and, being wooden, the stairs can be create noise in the early hours if anyone is inconsiderate when using them. The stairway up to the rooms is best-suited to mountain goats and sober twenty-somethings. The stairs are too narrow. It was not cleaned when I was check in. Nothing - although if you're unfit the stairs might be a challenge!. Hard to find as no obviousness sign outside, nothing else. Number of TV channel. I wanted to watch the football match but couldn't find it. Despite it being a Bed & breakfast, you are charged for breakfast. We passed. Also, despite it being a b&b we did not find the staff or owner particularly friendly or helpful about offering recommendations, etc. Not suitable for business travellers Too many narrow stairs and floors to climb, particularly if on 5th floor.
