We used the hotel as a stop over on our way across continental Europe so arrived late and left early. It was perfect for this as right next to the Antwerp ring road, spotlessly clean, and was able to accommodate myself and kids in one room with a hot shower en suite. The staff were really friendly and helpful, so I would recommend. value for money, sufficient breakfast, that the hotel allows room service from pizza phone was a nice touch, clean rooms, soundproofing allows a good night rest, comfortable bed. small room but it has everything you would need.
all reviews » We just needed a clean and quiet place to sleep overnight as we traveled through. The Ibis was PERFECT. Very small rooms, but that was fine as all we wanted were good clean beds and a shower. Imterior is superb. Looks like the earpy works of Dutch designers. Everything is colorful, neat and cozy. Note, they do not serve dinners only breakfasts, so be prepared to buy food somewhere. Aircon temperature can be set in room. Rooms small but clean. Low Cost Ballantine's in Ekeren about 1.5km away is a good place to eat - much better than the Novotel next door. Arrangement of room is ergonomic and you have almost everything in a small place. Furniture looks very good. large parking place. Near the motorway. relatively good value breakfast for 7,50Euro. Clean and functional rooms. Little chance of sunblinding. It's better to stay here when you travel by car, cause it's not far away from the center of Antwerpen, but since it's the suburbs, there is no other way to get there. Even after aircon is switched off there is still a noticeable whine from the vent. Earplugs recommended. sadly, no phone on the room. not many wall-sockets. We were placed in a smokers corridor because we arrived late, would have prefered to know this beforehand. it's a very very nice hotel however the room is little small and not much space to spread your luggage. wish the location was little bit more closer to the city. location: you defenitely need a car to go to the city center - but if you have it it's not that bad: 15 minutes to free antwerp parkings. take into account the fact that it's really in the middle of nowhere: to get food you have to go to the center too atmosphere: it seems more a kindergarden. Toilet and shower don't really separated from the room with thick walls. Not a problem for a great price but wouldn't suggest to a new couple due lock of privacy. Not easy to find. Could be cleaner. A bit expensive for (47,-EUR / 1night) it's budget value, but OK. Too far away from the city center. Little expensive especially with no breakfast which I thought was included. No coffe making facilities. the worst thing about this hostel is its location. it is aproximately 25 minutes by bus from "fantasic" antwerpern centraal station. So if you want to turn back and plan to take a short trip around grooenplants you have to wait for an hour just for the bus. breakfast price / value. My room didn't open in the middle of the night (but the staff handled it very well!). too far from the center, really hard to reach in the weekend, once the bus is rare. Constant low volume whine from air-conditioning system even when off so earplugs are required. Bed relatively hard - might not suit all. little rooms no view, as claimed on hotel site location bad to reach without car. a little far from the city - but we knew that. Beds uncomfortable, short breakfast hours, dirty bathrooms. Fat outside the city center, even public transfer to the city was hard to get to. You shouldn't expect anything else but a practical stay. Not for travelers who want to experience the city. Very rude staff, from the recepcionist to the manager. When I arrived my reservation was canceled, without any previous warning (even in booking site it was still confirmed) supposly because my credit card was not valid. The very same card that I end up using to pay for that night. The only thing that staff would say is that was not their fault, that it was my card that did not have money (no comments....) and that they don't have the obligation to notify cancelations... Internet wifi was not very strong. noisy mattress. smoke smell in the toilet. Location is too far from city. far from the city center, only accesible by car, bad coffee, bad bathroom, they gave us a room for disabled people and having a shower there was not a good experience at all!. I am covered in flea bites. I had to change rooms due to the smokey smell. I saw two dogs come out of different rooms. No wonder I am covered in flea bites. The bites are very itchy painful and bleed through scratching. I am suffering days on and actually wake up due to the itching at night. Price Vs. Quality Bed very uncomfortable. Location of the hotel is far away from the main city still hotel charge city tax. There is only one bus from station to the hotel which makes the movement restricted. Very small rooms. Lots of dust below the bed and in the corridor. 'Cheap' furniture in the room.
