All staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. This includes everyone from the cleaners to the kitchen staff and the two staff manning reception. They smiled and greeted guests like they meant it. This makes a huge difference when you're a stranger to a country. The rooms looked clean and smelled fresh. The bathroom was really clean with no lingering smells. Again, this makes a difference to one's comfort level. The beds were comfortable though I'm not sure if they would be suitable if .
all reviews » - Very professional and efficient staff. - Comfortable beds (rather hard mattress which is a blessing for those who like/need it). - Excellent buffet breakfast (not the American/English variety but still one of the best we had in such hotel category) - Pretty fast free WiFi Internet with a good coverage - Close to the Metro (U-Bahn) station (some 200-300 meters), so a little bit shady neighborhood is not a big deal - Nice choice of International TV channels. The location is OK, although a bit out of the center of the city, just two stops by tram and then by underground to Stefanplatz. There is also walking street with plenty of shops, coffee and a small shopping center just 5 min walking from hotel. The breakfast is nothing fancy, but above what i expected. The cleaning ladies who also manage the small cofeteria where they serve breakfast are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is spotlessly clean. the people at the reception were very helpful and professional, the room was very comfortable and clean, U-bahn station close and it was also close to Belvedere on foot. Hotel Caroline is on a realllllllly busy street so there is all night traffic flowing. - It's very much like the noise of the Edgware Road in W2 London. However, if you're really tired like I was, you get used to it and do fall asleep. I wouldn't recommend it for light sleepers though. My room was facing the main street. nothing really, you get more than you pay for. all was perfect. The bathroom was too small. And there was no real fridge in the room, just minibar. The refrigerator in the room didn't work very well and there is no air conditioning in the room. Would still definitely recommend, it just depends on the individual's level of expectation. Curtains did not quite cover width of window. Maybe they shrunk in the wash? - can that happen?. 2 of the kitchen staff were not friendly, but it did not really affect our stay. The area was a bit secluded and the streets were rather empty late in the evening but they didn't look dangerous at all. No tea making facilities in bedroom. Plenty of rooms away from the main road but mine suffered some traffic noise on a couple of night. The noise from the street was bothering me in the first night. Nothing. As we stayed in the upper most floor, it was very hot (the hotel has no air-con). The windows could not stay opened in the night due to very noisy street. The breakfest though very good was every day exactly the same - could become annoying for longer stays. The reception starts at 6:30 AM ( did not cause a problem for me but could be for early travelers if they want to check-out early). The hotel is located outside the ring of the central area of the city, in a rather run down looking part of the city. It was rather loudly at the night (if the window was open) because of car's din. Not the best area. At night, neighborhood gets a little bit intimidating. Nothing. Wi-fi did not work well (at least not in our room). It is a distance from Meidling train station and taxi overcharged us. poor cleanliness of bathroom. A little sultry in the room, the ventilation needs improvement. The street outside is very busy. Probably not ideal for business traveller. The wifi is awful. It was slow and kept on disconnecting . sholud clean teh bathroom with more care. Weak WiFi signal in rooms. small bathroom. Nothing. The first day rate was reserved on the credit card. Rooms to street are a bit noisy. No AC ( just a cooler) in a very hot period of the year. Hot. No air con. There wasn't any slippers in the room and towels was very old. They had some perfume in their laundry which made the room and the sheets smell from washingpowder. If you are allergic you could not stay there. Small shower. Local area not so good, but safe enough.
