Staff was very helpful and polite. We arrived late and could easily get keys to our room from the security safe provided. The receptionist gave us directions and a map to guide our day trip that was great, and we were able to make our Salzburg Card right there. Room was spacious and clean, bathroom very well lit. Hotel close to a bus stop, which is very handy. Neighbourhood seems safe and was a very quiet and pleasant stay.
all reviews » This was an excellent location for great value. It was a 10 minute walk from the train station. Although it is not necesarilly near the main centre of town, it was an easy 15-20 minute walk. Hotel is located on a quiet street, and the hotel is secure so you must have a card to get access inside. I stayed in a single room, so it was simple but just what I needed after a long day of touring. The location is excellent for access to the railway station. The hotel is small but very clean, comfortable and good value. On arrival we were given a voucher for a drink in a nearby 'Gasthaus' probably to encourage you're custom but we would have chosen it anyhow, it also was good value for the limited range of meals on offer. Everything was perfect except the wifi internet. We cannot use wifi at all at the first time but then the reception guy kindly changed the room for us. It seems to be fine with the internet but again it quite didn't work well that day. but after all everything was nice. clean and quiet. The hotel is brand new, so all the facilities were in good conditions. the room was really clean. the train station is 10mins walking from the hotel. the old town, is 20mins walk. good value for money!. Feels less like a hotel and more like a guest-house. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff very courteous. We had to check-out quite early and just left the keys at a designated spot- no hassle. We were promised a packed breakfast for day 2 (since we checked out early) and therefore we did not buy anything the day before. However, the breakfast was not there! Can't say this as a fault but just a point to remember for the staff maybe!. Half an hour walk to the old city center. The short route is not that nice, take the route along the river. not very far from the train station, but also not very close. The fact that the restaurant was in another building about 3 minutes' walk away and one evening, when they had everything outdoors for a barbecue, I realised too late that we had been overcharged. It turns out that the rooms are not cleaned after we checked in. QUite a long trek on foot into central Salzburg and rather a dull area. NOt a very characterful hotel, a bit anonymous. Breakfast at 11 Euros a head extortionate and not much alternative nearby, so we went into Salzburg and had a very good simple breakfast there at a cafe instead. The smell of cigarets in the livingroom, which was the only area for using free net. absence of kettle in the room, waiter in charge of breakfast doesn't understand any English, limited choice on breakfast selection. Although we were staying in a non-smoking room, when we arrived and during our stay we could smell the cigarette smoke quite strongly. It was coming from the ventilation from the lounge area below our room. seems that hanging out at night time not so safe in the area around. Wifi connection in the room was poor :-(. Not satellite tv, only Austrian canals. Nothing~. Neighborhood seemed a little low-rent . Not an area I felt comfortable in at night. Breakfast was expensive so we didn't try it. Wi-fi didn't work in our room. location is a bit out of the city centre, about 20min to Mirabelle gardens by walk, but you would have to pay a lot more for the same service in the city-centre hotel; anyway you can choose to use the bus, so it´s not a problem. Although it is not very far from the train station, it is not very close.... Besides, it is quite far from the old town. No Internet in the room Location a little bit far from city centre. The breakfast at 11 euros per person is overpriced. The "double" bed was 2 mattresses put together, not a double mattress. Not centrical, personnel not very friendly. Had to pay on arrival. - No A/C in summer. Breakfast selection wasn't great. Nothing. long walking distance from old town. No kettle for tea. neighbourhood felt a bit isolated. Couldn't get any English language TV. Wish price can be a bit lower (but it's summer time in Salzburg :) ). A bit hard to find, if you arrive on Sunday and there is nobody on street to ask. Too few restaurants nearby. Statt was improfesstion and does not know about anything.... ‣ must pay in advance ‣ forget about sleeping long, the noise from other guests in the staircase talking and slamming doors cannot be ignored. - wifi didn't wprk properly all the time. NO AIR CONDITION!!! WiFi only in the public areas, very weak in the room, far from the city center (25-30 min. walking). Wifi in the room was very weak, found the staff so careless against my complaint. Although I have read in many previous reviews that the wifi was not good, no improvement, so if you need wifi on the room, choose another hotel. the rooms facing the street are noisy it's a little bit far from downtown, but there is a bus stop close to the hotel.
