Salzburg main train station is only a 10 minute walk away from the hotel. The private parking was convenient being inner city however it was pricey and a block away from the hotel itself. a small refrigerator in the room would have been perfect... we have two small children and could have used it to store our milk. The design of the lobby is not so good. Designed on a split level, but no ramps for wheely suitcases.Parking. Room exceptionally hot and even with the control turned right down and then off it did not cool down. Had to resort to opening a window (with it snowing outside!!). We hated the smell of cigarette smoke in our room. Second floor was non-smoking but there was clear scent of smoke especially in bathroom. I assume 1st floor was smoking floor so probably smoke entered our second room bathroom throught ventilation. Luckily scent was not strong at it was only in bathroom.Bathroom was small and beat-down. Expensive parking and breakfast. the location was not as central as I would have liked. some of the hotel staff were not so good in there acting. it is expensive. No alarm clocks. Wake up call did not come in on day of departure. Alsowaited almost 2hrs for room service one night. It was a littled impersonal, decorated in typical European corporate style where it could have been in any European City. The bedroom size was adequate but not particularly generous.Room is rather small and one can hear street traffic noise. The reception is the first contact with the customer, the rest is added extras.The room was substandard for a 4 star hotel and the bathroom was in needof renovation with the ceiling sagging and old fittings and grottytiles. The food service was atrocious and the worst meal we had duringour stay in Europe. A steak ordered well done came in a pool of bloodand other menu items ordered were not even close to the menudescription. 4 star? I think not. Management of the booking and information on the front deck us very poor.Size of the room really very tiny.
