We had a wonderful stay! The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised that a note I put in our booking about the weekend stay being for my girlfriend's birthday meant that by the time we checked in, we had already received a complimentary upgrade to a beach view. A bottle of champagne was sent to our room with a note from the reservations manager too – another welcome surprise. The extra attention and little touches we received from Novotel's staff made all the differenc.
all reviews » The staff at the front desk and the concierge were amazingly helpful and great to deal with. Even when I had to go late at night to get something from my car the concierge happily assisted me. When the lady checking us in realised we were in a group she immediately gave us rooms close to each other. There was no problems with us paying up front and using cash as the deposit instead of having an authorisation taken on our cards. The room was clean, large and had everything we needed. Would defin. When asked at reception, we mentioned that it was our 28th wedding anniversary. After we returned from dinner, we found a complimentary bottle of champagne and a hand written note saying that they hoped we enjoyed our meal at "Garfish". A delightful, personalized touch that shows your reception staff really listen. Amazing service!. brilliant hotel with sydney just a short ferry ride - very good room with sea view staff extremely helpful and proficient restaurant excellent evening dinner mid week - however buffet evenings were disappointing breakfast was always excellent overall an ecellent expirence Thank you. My daughter & I thoroughly enjoyed what Manly had to offer as a holiday destination and the handy location of the hotel to all the things we wanted to do I.E. beach walks, surfing, cafe dining, and a little shopping. The view from the room was wonderful and surprising beautiful at night. There was comfortable furniture to sit on . You could open the doors and hear the sound of the sea. All the staff were friendly and polite. Great location right on the beach front in Manly. Great breakfast options. Perfect access to Manly Wharf for the wonderful ferry trip across Sydney Harbour into Circular Quay and Sydney city centre. The location, right on the beach boardwalk, was perfect. Manly is a lovely little town to visit, but it has a lot of restaurants and bars to cater to a varied clientel. The location opposite Manly beach is fantastic. We chose to eat at the hotel on our last morning as it seemed more convenient as we were packing up however the cost of $35p.P. was excessive for what we ate. The shower didn't work in the morning. I reported it. I think for $379 plus $22 for parking the shower should have worked or some discount given. Bar prices are a bit steep!. On Friday and Saturday nights, a lot of loud, young people come over from Sydney. Pay wifi and broadband when these days free wi-fi is more and more widespread and a great benefit to the business traveller. Air conditioning failed to work. Complimentary soaps/shampoo poor quality. Cheap. The little wooden platforms in the reception area a bit dodgy. I nearly tripped catching my foot on the corner of one. Room service morning coffee was tepid. The fact that if you wanted breakfast it was so expensive there. Shower in the room was terrible. Breakfast second morning was busy and hotel struggled to handle load. We upgraded to a fantastic room (222)beachside with a large outside balcony/courtyard. Unfortunately the balcony, including the furniture was very dirty. So dirty I was reluctant to sit on the cushions. They even had cigarette burns.The fantastic view was spoilt by the condition of the balcony & furniture. Disappointed!. Carpets looked grubby due to stains on them. Lounges really uncomfortable. The large terrible airconditioning machines outside the building that made a noise with the windows closed. Why doesn't someone build a box around it to silence it........far too loud. We moved rooms but even then it was loud. Couldn't connect to wifi. The lighting was very dim in the hallways, not good for older people with bad eyes. Friday and Saturday night noisy in function room below us. $11 per hour for wifi. Rock hard pillows and poor lighting - reading at night was hopeless. Nothing. All good this time. nothing. My voicemail light flashed all visit. Asked for them to fix but not done. Not a big deal. Covered the light at night. Pool was freezing.....!!. A bit disorganised at breakfast - was very busy at the time. It was a very busy weekend and the bar was understaffed. Our bathroom was a bit mouldy, nit what you expect from a nice hotel. I think it is getting a bit old and needs a refresh. tv remote so worn couldnt read it. $$$ for parking. Staff don't answer phones!. The room was far from elevators Breakfast was expensive. no phone book no ice cubes ,even budget motels have a couple of biscuits to go with a cuppa. breakfast not included in tariff. The pre authorisation froze my credit card after I had paid for my room!!. a bit dearer than we are used to breakfast a bit expensive. Too pricey. our room was a bit tacky for price we payed. Charged internet.
