The rooms are very comfortable for two people to stay in and the view from our room was outstanding. The location of the hotel was central on the main street of Port Douglas which made everything in the street seem so close no matter where we were headed. We loved the pool and made sure we used it daily! The staff were very friendly and were most helpful with all our requests all of the time.
all reviews » The peace, especially poolside as no children are allowed as guests. We have never stayed in Macrossan St on our previous 6 visits to Port as thought it would be noisy. Not so and an ideal location to walk to everywhere we wanted to go. The owners could not have been more welcoming and helpful, we had an apartment overlooking the pool which was beautiful and very quiet. They also left us a bottle of wine as it was my girlfriends birthday which was a really nice touch. The location was great surrounded by all amenities and restaurants. Room very clean & renovated well. Fantastic King bed, great to see & sooo comfortable. Wifi great as well. The whole experience! From the outstanding accommodation in the center of town, to the great hospitality offered by Rae and Gordon as managers of the complex. V. Nice room and comfortable sofa bed. Fresh, good quality bed linens and towels. Over clean. Laundry room! and staff helped to sort out small details. Location: middle of Macrossan Street (Centre of town) Under cover car park (Free) Friendly managers. Very clean, ideal location, spacious, well-equipped, friendly and helpful staff. Location price were great clean facility. For all the positives we had about our stay here the only criticism we had was that the kitchenette would be more effective if it had an oven of some type - even if it were a portable one. Other than that we were stoked with our room and would definitely stay there again as well as recommend the Le Cher Du Monde to others!. Only criticism is the expensive wi-fi, but there's better things to do in port douglas than surf the web!. Quite a strong "bleach" smell when we arrived in the room that only disappeared after we opened the doors & had the fans on high all day. Le cher du monde was fine, and delivered on its web description of facilities. Central location sounded good on paper. BUT choice of room and orientation to street significent: daytime heavy traffic and late night loud shouting from rowdy or drunk crowds in or leaving nearby pub a big negative for my first impression of Port Douglas in general. No lift (37 steps) No dishwasher Poor Wi-Fi (Free) Very limited (free) supply of everything. The stairs.
