Perfect location to access the city for shopping, entertainment , sightseeing etc. Circle tram is great as it takes you close to nearly any point of the cbd that you need/want to visit. Harbour town for shopping and food, as well as the restaurants. Late check in was easy with the pin number drop box for our keys. Staff were great. The apartment was large , roomy and had a fantastic outlook and position. Close to Harbour Town and DFO shopping . Very close to trams and great eating places. Will definitely stay here again, been staying in melb for many years and this has been the best accomodation !!!.

Lygon St in Carlton (just on the city fringe) is Melbourne's famous Italian cuisine district. There is an abundance of choice of restaurants here, mostly Italian but some other cuisine is available. A traditional place to go for visitors to Melbourne.

Acland St, St Kilda is a lively part of Melbourne (also on the city fringe) with a range of good bars, restaurants and shopping. It is famous for its cake shops, and is a popular tourist area. The St Kilda Pier café has recently been re opened and is a popular tourist spot. If you like live music, The Espy Hotel on the Esplanade is definitely worth a look.

Federation Square (opposite Flinders St Station). Apart from the amazing architecture, Fed Square has some great restaurants and bars. During the day the ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image) and the Sir Ian Potter gallery are well worth a look.

FROM THE AIRPORT Tullamarine International Airport is located approximately 25 minutes from the city centre. Once in Melbourne, there are many transport options including taxi, train and tram. SHUTTLE BUS Skybus operates 7 days a week, including public holidays. It's a 25 minute average trip between airport and city although timing will depend on the amount of drop offs. Cost is $16 per adult one way and $26 two ways. TAXI Docklands is 19km from Tullamarine Melbourne Airport and should take you around 25minutes to arrive. Cost of a taxi should range from $40-$45. AROUND TOWN BY TRAM Tram 48 (via Flinders Street) and Tram 86 (via Bourke Street) will take you to the New Quay Docklands. The free City Circle tram (from Flinders Street or La Trobe Street) will operate from mid 2009. BY BUS The Melbourne City Shuttle bus operates daily to New Quay. A FREE bus service operates between Waterfront City and Southern Cross Station every 10 - 20 minutes. BY TRAIN Take the train to Southern Cross Station (formally Spencer Street Station) and walk over the Bourke Street Pedestrian Bridge to Harbour Esplanade. Then follow the Promenade along to New Quay. BY CAR Parking is available at: - New Quay, Waterfront Way & Pearl River Road car parks (North and West). There are approx 3500 car parks. Parking is free for the first hour and $5 flat rate thereafter. - Limited public street parking is also available.
