Coming from a Hotel Management background, I know what it means to make people feel at home- I felt that everything was easy and effortless- by this I mean that everything was seamless, and the staff all gave the genuine impression that it was truly a pleasure to work there and look after the guests. Nothing was a problem- everyone was exceptionally friendly, welcoming and pleasant. I also wish to make specific mention to the food- I had the pleasure of enjoying the chef's specials last Sunday .
all reviews » Our apartment with full kitchen, laundry and enormous bath was perfect for our family. It immediately felt homely with the bonus of comforts and amenities of a top class resort. The rainforest boardwalk was a joy to explore and the hotel was a convenient 5 minute drive to the town centre, or a 10 minute stroll to Tallow Beach. Complementary morning yoga on the verandah was also a lovely way to start the day. The staff were a stand-out; consistently pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. I travelled to Byron to sleep and relax. It was the perfect place for it! The pool is stunning and the staff super-friendly in a genuine relaxed way. I also appreciated that the staff were very happy to speak to a family about their noisy kids (tearing up and down walkways at 7.30am). Beautiful setting amidst lush, landscaped grounds. Perfectly equipped room, mega-comfy bed, peaceful. And lovely food, both at breakfast and dinner. So good, in fact, that we are about to book to come back for longer. Friendly staff..deluxe suite accomodation with kitchenette!..rainforest surrounds..wildlife.boardwalk through rainforest to beach..proximity to Byron town/beach..dining experience..relax relax relax. Have stayed several times...it is so tranquil and relaxed.Everything and everyone slows down to a chilled out pace. Spa, deck and pool are great. Room and bath Bikes cheap to hire and being able to wash cloths and dry Yoga excellent. The pool area is divine and the location on Tallows Beach is fantastic. The food at the restaurant was great!. It is expensive and perhaps including a buffet style breakfast for guests would give more value. restaurant- breakfast was disappointing re value for money. eg quality of food and variety limited re cooked options. Scrambled eggs were cold, and selection was mediocre for price. Felt ignored twice by staff - once during cocktail hour - staff kept walking past and we had to really try to get their attention so we could get a menu. Second time was at breakfast - we were there at opening time and we were the only people there but the waitstaff ignored us for about 5min before greeting us and explaining the buffet/ order coffees Also at night it was very loud when the buggies drove past. Dining room Table had a few marks on it which made it look dirty. We had 3 cockroaches in our room, on 3 different nights, but it is the rainforest I suppose. I was horrified though, but insect spray was in the room, which was handy. Regular spraying of the room may eliminate this. Leaving!. Nothing. We are vegans, no options for dinner at the restaurant, and prefer organic produce and could not dine at the restaurant. We both had major problems with the beds. Sleepless nights in pain as the beds were too hard for us. Leaving! Price means its only a once a year treat for us. Would love to stay more often. Nothing. Nothing. Having a stinking cold the whole weekend (though not much you can do about that!) The prices (but it's commensurate with the experience). Breakfast was poor and expensive presentation was lacking. Restaurant staff were not particulary happy or welcoming on many occassions. Buffet breakfast. Some of us do not want a big breakfast, i just wanted eggs benedict but had to pay the $30.00 price. Some hotels do an A la carte breakfast, pay for what you eat. The bed...I found it really hard and had a sore back for the whole time. Ridiculously expensive at $390 per night. The bed was sloping and uncomfortable and was not stable, the wi-fi was hopeless. the bed was two single beds put together. the room needs some upgrade.
