Very nice breakfast included with the price of the hotel, very friendlystaff, very convenient luggage storage.We had an unexpected room upgrade (which was great). Staff were very polite and friendly (when avaialbe). The location of the hotel is in a safe and good area for tourists. Room was well cleaned each day. lobby and location. good localization; nice bathroom. The spa was OK though pitty that there is now swimming pool.The lobby and location was nice. The Spa. nothing, zero, nada. Room in itself looked better on the website than on real life. Hotel is a bit old and it shows a little in the accommodation, specially in the bathroom. They are working on it though, entrance and hallways look very sharp.the noise from outside and the air conditioning could not be regulated. the breakfast is poor, the waiting area in the entrance need to be done, the plastic flowers is terrible for a 4 stars .the breakfast was all those days same, very poor for 4 stears and was very mixed as positions- every morning there was chaos ... One office staff member extremely "grumpy"......poor communication skills. The heat was on and it was almost unbearable. There were no windows toopen except for one 8" by 12" window in the bathroom, and this seemed asafety risk as well as a ventilation problem. I was traveling with my 5y/o and asked for help with baggage. The staff was willing, but onestaff helped from room to lobby, another from lobby to curb, bothexpected tips. Tiny single beds. Breakfeast was a chaos (no plates/cups at times, not much staff). Food would not be re-supplied when eneded. Hotel is oldish (but Clasical, which goes with the B.A experience). Rates are ok (not the best).a little noisy. unconfortable bed and pillows; noise room (tv, ar conditioning from other rooms, hotel machines); breakfast with very few options;. The Castelar is not a four star hotel but a (quite expensive) two star hotel, however in BAires all hotels are overrated... It is certainly not a 4* hotel at least not the room I was in. However, in view of the price (90 $) i was not expecting a lot more.The room was like a little box, bed uncomfortable, electricity keptgoing off in the room so no a/c, lights etc. during the day and nights. The hotel room was completely different than it was on the pictures, it was old and dated and i wouldnt have bookt it if i would have know howthe rooms acctually looked like.Very few staff spoke english despite being in the centre of the tourist district in BA. When my friend was ill, on 2 occasions it took them over an hour to get medical attention to the hotel.
